I Got Stuck In The Car Wash Today!

Jill was only saying to me in a discussion a few days ago about not liking carwashes in case it broke whilst she was in there and today I picked my daughter up from the station and went to the car wash, paid for the full works wheel wheel scrub etc and sat there being brave as my little son was in the back get frightened so we were laughing saying look at all the soap darling that sort of thing where as if he wasn't with me I would be ducking when in came over just in case LOL, but today it got stuck, it can only happen to me, but both side sections were by the doors so I couldn't get out either, not that I would have attempted to I don't think so after about five minutes I said to my daughter well no one has come what shall I do si I just sat with my habd on the horn. A man did come and press a button and shift it back and off we went but I had a giggle after with my daughter saying about I was only talking about being stuck in one the other day on myLot and its happened. The car is lovely because we hoovered and polished it too when we got home and it is now showing up all the others in the close. So discussion question is have you ever been stuck in a car wash? Do they worry you? Do you hand wash your car instead? Or having you ever been trapped somewhere where you knew it would be dangerous to get out and what did you do to get out? Ellie :D

That has never happen to me and since our car is not even running it might not happen soon. I am glad you took this experience with humor

Hi Sweets I've had it happen 2 times. Both times I just honked and they got me going again. I think this is a common thing. xoxoxoxoxo

oh my, I forgot. I use to hand wash my vehicle when I was able. Now I use those car washes and have them do everything to.

I know what you mean on both counts. I would be wary of that one too. And being upset if it took awhile to get noticed. I would not have thought it funny.

Hi Moondancer I alwasy used to hand wash mine but now where I live I have to walk bowls of water through the house as no outside tap or side entrance so it is easier to take through the car wash, but I will use another from now one. Ellie :D

Oh My Goodness Ellie - i am surpised that happened so soon after that discussion - I would probably have refused to go in til the memory of the post had faded! lol I used to use car washes a lot but now our car is always washed by hand - the kids enjoy doing it with daddy so as well as saving money it is fun too! I did get stuck in a lift on a very hot day on the way to my sons first Birthday Party! My ex had taken my son up the stairs and I went on the lift with my in laws - at least if we had been there for longer we would have had something to eat as I had the Cake! lol It was only about 15 - 20 minutes but it was so hot all opur clothes were wringing by the time we got out! xxx

Makes more sense to go to a car wash in that case! We just have to bring a hose round from the back of the house so it is much easier and cheaper for us to do it that way! xxx

Hi Mummymo, I have to go through the whole house with bowls of water and so I find it easier to take to the car wash and then I will hoover and polish it once I get home. I use the stairs rather than the lift as the thought of being stuck in one freaks me out. At least you would have had something to eat like you say though. Huggles. Ellie :D

Wow! You were lucky that someone came along to help you! I personally have never been stuck in a car wash before. I generally wash my car at home with the water hose and a sponge! However, if I came across someone that was stuck in a carwash, I would definately help them out! I used to work for a hospital on the fifth floor. One day, headed in to clock in I got stuck between the second and third floor on the elevator!! I was in there alone with just my cell phone. I called the hospital and asked for Bob, the charge nurse. I told him I was stuck on the elevator. He asked me if I was joking..I started crying and he knew I wasnt! He went ahead and clocked me in. I told him to connect me to security. I told security which elevator I was on. I was stuck on the elevator for an hour before someone got me out. I had sat down in a corner, indian style clutching my cell phone and asking God to get me out alive!

Oh Silentangel, that would terrify me as I don't like confined spaces at all and to be stuck in a lift must have been horrible for you. I in fact always take the satirs if I can no matter how many floors. Your prayers wer answered though as you are here to tell the tale today eh! Thank for sharing. Ellie :D

I'm scared to take the stairs. At the hospital where I work now, years ago (when I was 14 or 15) my pawpaw took the stairs at the same hospital. He was with my aunt. Someone opened gunfire down the stairwell. The man that did it, was on his way to shoot his wife, who at the time worked in the cafeteria. My aunt and pawpaw made it out safe. Unfortunately two people got shot...so did the mans wife. No one got killed though. Just the thought of that brings fear to stairwells.

Hi ellie, Yea, we have tried that also and it's cool looking all the soap running all throughout the car and all their wipers like scaring the car..LOL! It's like I was in the horror place! LOL! We are not having it often, my husband and I try to do it manually..LOL! Another form of exercise for us, bending wiping the cars and soaping it once a month! LOL!

Hi Checapricorn, I would still handwash the car but in the house I am in now there is no side entrance or outside tap so I would have to carry bowls through the house so just as easy to take through the car wash. Huggles. Ellie :D

I know that was not something nice but at least someone came and you were able to get out. I have not had that happen to me before. That is something that I would not want to think about. It makes you not want to go in a car wash at all if something like that could happen. YOu would rather go to a car wash that hand wash the car instead of automatic. Have a good one and glad to here that your safe.

I have never been stuck in a car wash, but the woman in front of me was once. Like you all she could do was honk the horn, but no one came out to help until I sent my son in to get someone. Needless to say I didn't go in and I have since made my husband take my car through or else I wash it in the driveway LOL

I used to be quite scared of car washes, I still do not really like to go in them! My kids when they were little, were absolutely terrified of them, I used to get quite upset for them when we first ever took them in one and they cried. I do not actually drive so hubby takes care of the cleaning of the car, he probably does it about once every six months and the only time it gets a hand wash is when it is a hot sunny day and he can take his top off!

Hi Gemini_rose, They can be quite scary especially if you are a little one so when this one packed up I had to stay calm not to upset my son. Ellie :D

I hate being in the car wash too, but in my case it's because my other half always waits until we are inside to let loose a really offensive fart! Being stuck in there must have been really scary. I don't know what I'd have done in my car. The horn doesn't work!

Hi Moondancer, Oh I knew somebody would come eventually but I didn't want to be stuck there for hours so I just beeped the horn until someone did. They thought it was funny but I was a bit 'I want to get out of here now' type thing. Ellie :D

Hope I didn't send you bad karma! LOL....I use a sprayer now...no more of the automatic ones for me right now until I get a little braver! Just a side note. The same car wash I got stuck, two days later someone else I know got stuck in...but he decided to get out and see what was wrong. AS soon as he stepped out the under carriage wash went off....it knocked his hat off and he got soaked! LOL

Hey Ellie. No, I've never been stuck in a car wash, nor has that ever worried me. I love taking my car to those type of car washes. Also, I sometimes hand wash my car here at home, which is sort of fun and great exercise also. Hm, I can't think of anywhere I've ever been trapped and I hope I never am. Glad you made it out okay. That was pretty smart to think of honking your horn. Otherwise, you'd all still be sitting there!

Hi PearlGrace, I am sure someone would have wanted there car washed sooner or later and then they would have realised eh! I am glad that you haven't had this sort of experience though. Ellie :D
