Does your boxer dig in the yard? What do you do about it?

I have a jack russell terrier. I moved in with a family who has a lab and a boxer. The boxer taught my jack russell how to dig, so now they both have successfully destroyed the yard. I read that punishing the dog for it will only teach them to do it when you're not around. Does anyone else have this problem? And what do you do about it?

WE don't have a boxer, but I know some people put concrete next to the fence to keep them in. The other thing I have heard of is spraying the fence with something you buy at the pet store to keep them aways from that area.

This is a great idea but we have an invisible electric fence. She just digs all over. Do you think the spray would work on the grass or something?

My boxers have dog a couple. But everytime its been for rocks burried in the ground. They like to play with rocks and large limbs. But they have never destroyed my yard. Its maybe been 3 holes between the 2.

Honestly, all of my boxers did it. And I never did figure out what to do about it. As long as all they're hurting is the look of the yard, I feel like you should be thankful for small blessings...I had one once that tore a hole in a wall and chewed the sheet rock off. Boxers are really destructive if you let them get bored. The best thing to do for a destructive dog, which won't erase the behavior but will reduce it, is to make sure the dog is getting enough exercise and enough attention not to get bored.
