Original Philosophical Statement?

It's easy to find great statements by great people. They're everywhere. From presidents, philosophers, famous people, writers, etc., they are not hard to find. But what about you? What is the most profound statement you ever made which (as far as you know) can be attributed to only you? I realize the quality of these statements are purely objective, and they may never be printed anywhere else but here; but this is one of those times when you can toot your own horn. Just recently, I made a statement which I thought was pretty good while responding to a MyLot friend. I didn't realize it at the time but when I went back today I said to myself, "Hmmm, not bad." Here is my philosophical statement: "If you choose to wallow in the pit of despair, then you will never see the sunshine of life." Let's read yours.

Hey, I remember that statement! Hmmm, let's see. Being the arrogant Aries that I am, I've said a lot of things I thought were profound. Just kidding. I've always said, "Not all drivers are morons, but all morons have a driver's license." Okay, switch the word 'morons' with 'a$$h0les'. That's really what I said. I've also coined a phrase for movies that guys like to watch (generally speaking, of course). I'm sure you've heard of 'chick flicks', well, I had to come up with a male version of that, just to be fair, you understand. My phrase is, let's see how I can word this so that myLot doesn't get it's hackles up, "Richard flicks", only use the nickname for Richard, and I don't mean 'Rick'. Yeah, sweet lil ol' me has a gutter mouth. Not really, but I do say what I mean.

ROTFLMHO! You are something else. I'm taking a lesson from you on how to skirt the rules. May I quote you? I promise to give your real name. LOL Really, why don't you tell us all how you feel. Thanks for the hilarious response.

Sure! Quote away. Spread it around! I'd like nothing better than to hear something I originated being said by someone I don't know years down the road. That could be so cool! It doesn't matter to me whether or not anyone knows that I said it first. I know I thought it up and that's good enough for me. Of course, I could have it copyrighted!

Here lately, I've picked up a phrase that says,"on the other side of the mountain, the sun is shining," which I hope for others, it has a strong optimistic outlook on life, like it has for me!

I should have also added that you not only make people feel good with your music, but you also make them feel good with your words and outlook on life.

singout, that is a good statement, I like it, it has good meaning to it! The one that I always say, when helping others out is, 'the sun is shining on the other side of the mountain'!

Thank you musicman6 and fellow musician. I loved your statement. I loved the positive feeling about it. It gives one a feeling of hope for a better day tomorrow. We need plenty of that today.

My personal favorite is "Some you win, some you lose. And, some get rained out." I have been saying this since I was a young man

Before I comment on your response I need to do a little house cleaning. What I should have said in my post was that the quality of our statements are rather "subjective".....Ugh! LOL. I loved that statement! I'm going to remember that. I love to collect quotes like that.

Fantastic! If I get too many of these good ones, it's going to be hard to decide which one gets the best response. Thanks

singout, Hi again. I don't know if you would consider this philosophical or not but my kids always hated for me to say to them whenever they got hurt and had any great problems in their lives. I alway said "You'll live." And it is true, no matter what we experience in life we will survive. "We'll live " .

I'm going to steal from FTA and say that the lack of money and the loss of money is the root of many sorrows. Sorry honey, no can do today, but maybe one day, Really I like many of my thoughts that are original, like the Evolution of Religion, what is the next step? How about a world of Peace and Blessings for all that seek a world of Peace and Blessings. I would think the rest are then cursed but that is not a blessing. I can live with, I can not live with out. GOD is Love, pure and holy. Heaven is the source of peace beyond all human understanding both here on Earth and in the Universe forever. No boundaries = Freedom Being a slave is to be controlled, Power leads to abuse and the abuse of power should be exposed, Peace and Blessings, Happy New Year, Sincerely, Gary How was that?
