Do you correct a misspelled word while chatting?

I chat a lot when I was in 1st year college but now I rarely do. I chat with shortcut words but sometimes I still correct them because they're unreadable. I pot an asterisk before the readable word. I got used to it but now, I don't usually do it when chatting. It's only when my chat mate asks what i wrote then I correct it. How about you? Do you still correct a misspelled word while chatting?

I do correct my misspelled words. It just drives me crazy to sit there and look at it, knowing it is wrong. I have been known to sit here with dictionary.com pulled up in another tab, just to make sure that a word is spelled correctly. The other thing that makes me nuts is poor grammar. I am not talking about those people whose first language is not the same as mine, those mistakes I can overlook. I am talking bout people who should not need a translator to make a simple sentence. I want to correct other, but I don't unless I just absolutely cannot understand what they are trying to say.

I still chat a lot these days. Its one of my best hobbies and i enjoy doing it. Especially when I'm bored or having nothing else to do i log into my messengers and chat. I type very fast when I'm online so i tend to make mistakes but if they are readable and make sense to the other person i don't bother correcting them but if its simply something weird and totally confusing then i retype the word and send with an asterisk in order to show the word I'm referring to.

yes I do! I hate misspelled words at any time! If I am chatting and misspelled something I will usually correct it on the next line by saying something like "I meant" and the correct spelling. It bugs me if I just ignore it LOL. I use a little bit of chat shortcuts, but not a lot. Mostly the usual lol, lmao and that type of thing. I hate not being able to understand what someone is saying because everything is in shortcut, it takes the fun away from chatting trying to figure them out LOL.

If the misspelled word is unintelligible to the other person, then I will have to correct it for his convenience. Otherwise it will hinder sharing of thoughts and ideas.

chatters english are not the normal proper english spelling. they are highly modified to suite the situation and I often use many shortcuts whenever I send sms or chatting. this saves time and space.
