Forthcoming biz trip to Singapore

I will have my biz trip to S'pore next month and it will be my first time there.Could mylotters give me some idea what to buy in S'pore?Is it the shopping season there?Thanks~

Welcome to sunny island Singapore... It's shopping season all the time in Singapore. If you come next month, there are about three festive seasons that we are celebrating in town, one of the Chinese (Lantern Festival), the Malays (Hari Raya) and the Indians (Deepavali). There will be lots to see, light-ups in specific areas and all.
When it comes to shopping, I really do not know where to start. What are you looking for? Souvenirs? There are so many!! You could start at Orchard Road. But you must try the local food here. There are so many to choose from because we are a cosmopolitan city. Enjoy!

Oh~Thanks v much for your kindly introduction about S'pore.
Actually,this time I'll come with up to 20 appoinments with my clients,it may have half day as my personel time to enjoy.I do looking for the souvenirs and local food as you mentioned,in the mean time,I would like to find something bargain and special,hee~~

If you're looking for a bargain and interested in getting electronics, you should to Mustafa Centre in Serangoon Road. It does not only have electronics, it has everything under one roof. You may get some bargain or two.

Singapore is really a wonderful place for shopping, although it isn't currently the sales season, there are typically shops that have their own internal sales and offers. Do try the food when you are here in Singapore, no trip here is every quite complete without trying the wide variety of food, which can range from simple local fare to western and asian cuisine and also, not forgetting different kinds of buffet spreads such as the internation buffets at hotels or japanese buffet spreads at local shopping centres.

You missed the Great Singapore Sale which was in June. The Muslims will be celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri here on 1st October and shopping bazaars will be set up for a month at Geylang and Kampong Glam areas from 1st September onwards. Do message me here, maybe I can show you around if I got some free time.
