Mostly I try to stick to something I know about, like grilling. But today I wanted a cake; out of the box. It tasted fine, but it didn't come out flat on top, the middle was rounded like a basketball. What did I do wrogh? How do you make it flat so you can stack it? Thanks for your help.

To have your cakes come out flat on the top is after you put the cake in the pan you hold the cake pan about 2 inches off the counter and drop it a couple of tome to get out any large bubbles. Then before you put the cake in the oven you push the cake batter to the sides of the pan leave a dip in the middle of the cake and when it bakes it will even out. It make take a little practice to learn just how much to push to the sides to get a nice even cake.
