painkillers

If you have a pain,do you take a painkiller? if you do when do you take it,straightaway or do you wait for a while,my doctor told me that pills are meant to be taken sooner rather than later. Are you one of those people that doesnt take painkillers,if you are, do you tell everyone else not to take them,or do you just get on with it. Do you complain about it,or just take the pill?

I take pain killers the minute I feel a headache coming on. I figure it is best to take it before it gets too overbearing to deal with . I am a pain killer pusher:) If someone says they have a pain or headache, I offer them an Advil. I think that they work the best and the fastest.

Advil are stronger then regular asprin. I usually take 3 of them to get right to the pain quicker.

I take painkillers when I have to, I can't stand pain so I take it as soon as I can. I use the tylenol rapid release pills, they do seem to work fast, they're supposed to work within 5 mins. of taking them. My husband doesn't like taking pain pills and his knees and back are always bothering him, but he won't take anything just once in awhile he will, he can take pain better than I can..lol.

i cant stand pain either,i take them straightaway too, although with your husband if the pain is always bothering him,he probably wouldnt want to be full of strong paikillers all day which is fair enough because they make you feel awful and drowsy x

What your doctor says is true. If you already feel the pain, taking a pain killer will be less effective. However, most of us don't know that pain is coming unless you have a chronic condition or something. I rarely take painkillers. I don't take a painkiller for small stuff anyway unless I know I'll have a stressful day ahead of me.
