Have you done something which you swear never do again, yet keep doing it?

man bowing head - regrets

I hate doing things in the "11th hour" or accomplishing tasks few seconds before the deadline. I am trying my best to organize things earlier and anticipate possible outcomes before an activity or event will come, but no matter what happen I always see myself, stuck with so many things still on a few minutes, which results to cramming, disorganized, tensed outcomes. I hate doing it on the 11th hour yet keep on doing it. Have you done the same? Have you done something which you swear never to do,yet find yourself doing it again ? Let us share experiences !

if i swore that i will never do that again, then i will not do it again. coz i hate swearing but then you will not act on it. for example last week i swore to my officemate who asked me a favor that help her to burn 100 cds. i told her that i will finish it by the end of the day. as soon as i arrive at the office, i get 100 cds & i started to burn documents, & i finished it by 3 or 3:30 pm hehehe.. she never know that i don't pee just to finish it lol my attitude is to finish my task at the end of the day whether if it's tons of work coz i don't want to do it again on the following day. & there will be a tendency that i will forget about it. as long as i can finish it by the end of the day, i will work on it hehehe..

good job jinxky, I am that kind of person sometimes can't wait for the next day the reason why I am so occupied, but hate it when I forget something usually 'minor details' though.

HI Torchablazed! Yes even I hate that! But I think I am quite upto that by now. The most annoying habit that I keep repeating is to keep pushing the alarm button off every morning. How I hate the sound and how i hate to regret that i have actually pushed it again!

well i can't say about anything else but yes i done many times that thing i have swear about. some situation becomes hard that i need to go through the same that i won't wanna do again. take an example : some time back my mom find me in boozy condition ( i was drinked lot) Mom asked me to swear that i will never do it again, but as my profession suggest i have to drink some times. so i must say you can't keep your words always specially in this fast and happening world. :D

The thing that you regret the most in this situation is that when you really were drunk the night and when you wake up your head hurts, you swear NEVER to do it again. lol.

Sure I have. Am I a saint? Well, maybe I want to be one. Nah, I changed my mind. Why would I want to be a saint? I am human and perfection is not in my genes. I strive for perfection like many people but it does not mean I will be perfect. So yes, I have done things I told myself I shouldn't do every again but I am just not strong enough sometimes.

hi there torchablazed! well, in my case one of the thing that i was trying to avoid is to see my ex bf.,i am now into serious but long distance relationship.,i am still seeing my ex but this is just a friendly date now,.like we go out to eat and talk about anything that makes us busy or sometimes we confide problems to each other.,i know it is not right cause i have a boyfriend now but whenever he calls me and ask me out i still can't say no.,i don't know why.,maybe because he's a not just an EX but a good friend for me.,

lol...i have a similar problem with my ex , i just cannot resist myself from replying to her calls or text messages or occasionally even meeting her, but i think i am in a liitle safer position compared to you as i do not have any girlfriend now, i am single so even if after sometime we get back to our relationship again i wont be hurting anyone, ....but anyways i think ex`s make excellent friends ...so you should take him as a friend and maybe give a hint that you have moved on...Well!! thats just my view on this...

LOL. I swore lots of, and yet, I can't help but to do it over and over again. these are few of the things that I swore not to do, but still doing it: - I swore that I will tell my boyfriend how I feel especially when I am mad or got pissed at him.(sorry, but I can't help it! I guess it's a woman's nature. to stay quiet, even if they are so damn angry!:p) - I swore not to cry whenever I miss my family. crying made me so weak and made me give up from all things that is why I am staying away from doing it. and I don't want my dad to see my crying. (I moved out from my mom and my siblings, and I am staying now with my dad. you can't blame me if I cried over for some sadness, and for our situation.) last but definitely not the least.. - I swore to sleep early and not to talk over the phone with my boyfriend for long hours, and never stay up late.. (because I really wanted to get rid of this damn eye bags! and I am so anemic and really need to get some sleep.), but can't help doing it, ahhhh! I just miss my boyfriend and that I always wanted to talk to him, and share whatever I feel.. that's it! sorry if it's too long.

Sometimes swearing something not to do makes us just "addictive" and saw ourselves kept doing it !

Hi! I do that all the time and with almost anything actually. Especially in my studies. I would swear that Im going to be a 'good student' this sem but after an hour of promising that I just break it. I think Ive been swearing that for 3 semesters now and still no improvement. Another situation is dieting and exercising. Throw in spending there too.LOL! I would always swear that Im going to have a good exercise habit next month, and Im going to eat healthier but the thing is I love to eat and Im such a couch potato. As for the spending well, I forget my 'promises' to myself and spend for food whenever I feel like it.tsk3

Yep. I think almost all of us are guilty of exactly what you wrote about, or something very similar. I know I am! Normally, it pertains to Christmas shopping. Every year I swear that I'll have all the shopping done by no less than two weeks before Christmas. The maddening crowds, people panicking to find that last-minute gift, packed stores... nope, not for me! But I always find myself forgetting a few things a few days to a day before the holiday. This happens every single year! I want to enjoy every aspect of that holiday. I don't want the last weeks previous to be filled with regret, anger, frustration, or any other negative emotion. I start out good enough; I'll start buying gifts whenever I see something I know that someone will like, even if it's the day after Christmas! I get quite a bit of it done well before December. But... My stepfather wasn't like that. He was one of the rare exceptions. He ALWAYS did what he had to do well before any deadlines. Then, he'd sit back and relax until it was time. He was a Professional Engineer with a very logical mind and lifestyle. (He could have almost been a Vulcan!) I wish I could be half as organized as he was!

A friend of mine used to buy Christmas stuff three or four months before Christmas season (gee maybe she is already on with the list now..lol) yeah, she is that organized when it comes to Christmas thingie, anyway, I did well almost same thing as you mentalward, it is so sick for me too to find myself exhausted instead of enjoying the holidays. sigh. Thanks for sharing

Oh my dear we have the same old habit and it is so hard to kick. I promised 1 million times already not to do things on the last minute but no matter how I tried... I'd end up cramming at the 11th hour. Hu!hu!hu! My husband would always tell me "Here you are again, you've never learned your lesson after so many years!" I will just reply "Sorry, next time I will not do again." But when the next time comes, I am again doing the same old habit. Ohhhh! I can't really understand myself.

I always forget our monthsary. Although there are times when I remember it, there are still times when I forget. My girlfriend would always be mad and I would always say sorry and that I would never do it again. But there are always times I forget. Have a nice day!

Before i had my daughter regardless of the past mistakes my ex had done I always took him back. I would always say to myself, that is it I am through with him for good, and next thing you know he apologizes and I would take him back.. forgetting about the damage he had caused. Now, after I had my daughter I learned that it was not going to be healthy for my daughter to have a relationship that was not so concrete (even after dealing with him for five and a half years) so therefore to this date I have not taken him back because he has caused a lot of damage and I do not want my daughter to suffer for our problems.

I keep to my promises and if I swore then I won't do it again. It is awful when people break their promises it shows they are not good people. As long as I can keep my promises then I will do because there is no point making promises if you cannot keep them and at the end of the day, it is also about friendship and loyalty.

Yeah, there are alot of times and alot of things that i swear i wun do it again, but i end up doing it again and again till i give up on it.. lol =D Give up on swearing not doing it again, i mean.. lol Later, i found that it's easier to swear the other way rouund and so that we will be forced to do it.. haha =D For example, instead of swearing that i will not do this or that again, if not what will happen etc, i turn it into this way, I better do this or that, if not i will lose all my precious things at the moment of time.. lol This works for me, and maybe u should give it a try ^_^

I tend to put myself down a lot and take things to heart a bit too much. Im always saying Im going to stop doing it but it certainly is not easy. I just have low self esteem I think and it is hard to change that. I am a bit better though. I try not to worry so much about stuff. I get really paranoid as well at times and think that people do not like me.

I'm the same, I always say to myself that I'm not going to leave things until the last minute, and I always do anyway. For me though, this usually means college work, but it doesnt matter as much this year, as I got such grades this year that I have already passed next year (barely, but it's all I need) and I will be able to get into university, so I am pleased that it won't be as much of an issue to me this year, so I will have a bit more time to sit back and relax.

I'm tired of accomplishing tasks few seconds before deadline. That is just so annoying! I keep telling me that I have to do things in a long time before deadline, but of course that doesnt work and I keep doing things in the last moment. :(

Yes and I really hate it.
