If you will not comment back... you are missing a lot at mylot!

One of the "Dont's" here is: "Thank everyone that responds or comments on your discussion. This will not increase your earnings." With this some users thought it better not to comment back. But I believe not commenting back is depriving yourself of the opportunity to add more to your earnings. The rule does not say you should not comment back, it just states that Don't thank everyone... which to me means apart from thank you, I can always add meaningful and useful thoughts to m comment. The longer the better! This is a discussion and the more you encourage healthy and fruitful discussion the more you get more benefits. How about you? Do you think the same way too? Or you are one of the thank you people here which I once before!

This discussion reminds me of our past whereby we have so much time in mylot, talking to each day everyday without fail and making all of other ple's discussions as our own private chat room.. lol =D How i missed those days ^_^ hehe But now, it's gonna be hard because or work commitments as well as time :(

Yes my sweet baby, make sure it's longer around 4 sentences. I earned from that actually. And also my tip for you is to make also your responses long around four or more sentences. The longer the better. Do you know my baby, this morning I found out my earnings is at the highest level of $1.28! Would you believe. I only give long comments back and participated to around 30 discussions but longer ones I made. That is my tip baby, and do learn from it!

I don't care on the earning part but I just want to show some gratitude to people who take time to read and comment on my discussions, and that goes more to you! Thanks for always taking time answering my post, hope you'll not get bored with my topics and discussions and always drop by at my profile to see more (and now it's payback time )

Yes friend, the gratitude should actually be the given more weight. I am glad there are people here like you who have that kind of thinking. Of course I will always support my friends here for after all they always give support to me. Thanks a lot because you appreciate and I also appreciate you. However, there are times that if the topic is really not my interest and I have nothing useful to say, I really cannot give response and it saddens me sometimes. My friends' discussions are always my priorities here so if you find me answering, that means I can't find words that will be useful or pleassing to the read. I hope I will always please you. Have a nice day

Hey salonga, the rule is not to just say thank you and nothing else. You can thank someone, but you need to say something more with the thankyou. Some people will try to get away with just saying that and not adding anything else. That is not allowed. The think that if they say thank you that means they will get credit. They need to make some kind of substantial comment to add to what the poster is saying to answer the discussion. Otherwise, the purpose of the discussion is null and void of substance.

Right Opal always add something more worth the while of the respondent. Saying thank you is nice but adding some more comments will encourage healthy discussion and more importantly it will build relationship. That is the essence of mylot to encourage discussion and encourage friendship. There are many people here who have created very good relationship here because they are not just after the money but also caring to let other people know their ideas and be of help. Have a nice day!

Hi my friend. Make it at least four lines my dear. That is perhaps the best way to comment back if you want to be benefited. Surely, it's nice to thank your respondents but I for one would want to hear more from the poster so I would know how well he regarded my response. After all each respondents take some time so we ought to take some time as well. Have a nice day!

I respond to all of the responses that I have received. Those that which to discuss it will respond. Sometimes I do not have an adequate response so I do not answer them as they are received. I do it for the sake of the discussion. Not for the money.

Very good if you do it not for the money. But this is also a good way for those who are here to earn money. Without knowing it you are also building a good discussion that will most likely turn into a good friendship. Mylot is a very nice place, you earn money and while trying to earn you get friends and a lot of helpful ideas. Have a nice day!

I haven't yet worked out what affects my earnings, but I shall do soon. For the moment, I will comment back to to the people who I think need commenting back on my discussions, but I won't do it just for the sake of creating income, I will just see how things go! :)

Well Gemma make sure you do it now. You will see how it will improve your relationship and earnings as well. But make sure it is a minimum of at least 4 sentences. You always add some more friendly comments to add up to the contents. Like commenting on her aviatar or her beautiful name!

I totally agree - it is a positive thing to add more thoughts to the discussion in response to those who post. It is, however, not fair to those who take the time to post a meaningful response to their posters when others are posting "Thank you for your response" and getting credit for it.

I think the key thing to remember is that it is a "discussion" - basically a written conversation - we need to think of it as if we were talking face-to-face.

Each respondent deserves meaningful response. That way I believe they feel more appreciated. We are also following the guidelines if we don't just say thank you. It is better to follow the rule than to violate isn't it. I'm glad you agree with me in my opinion. I wish you all the best here.

sometimes i lack a thing to say so there are times that i do not comment back on hose that have responded in my discussion and when i have a lot of comment to answer back i feel lazy..hahahaha sorry..but sometimes if i have been absent for a long time and i will have many looking backs to make i really am having a hard time to respond to all of them. but if i have the time and the energy i make it a point to respond to all those who have left a comment in my post and not just saying thank you because we all know or probably all knows that it is against mylot rules

Hi Kaezy my dear cyber daughter! I have been missing you the whole day. You came in when I am about to sign off! Well thank you for caring to drop by here at my discussion. Please don't be lazy, you are still very young to lack the energy. To give you incentive... just remember that a respondent will feel delighted and will be encouraged to respond to you again and also if if you give long comments it will give you additional earnings. I have proven that believe me. I don't know if I am wrong but there was one time I only replied to all my respondents and for that my time was used up and was only able to participate in few topics here but still I got a remarkable earnings for that day.

You are absolutely right on that my friend, a good reminder for other mylotters as well, but I was still a newbie, I think it is polite to say and express thank you to those who responded to your post, not unless someone remind me not to do that. As much as I can I responded back those who respond to my discussions, and by that it would keep your discussion 'alive' and some offline mylotters when they login they would see your posts, that is my experience here too, as you put it "encourage healthy and fruitful discussions.."I thank people once in a while though, but I see to it that I would add insightful ideas or elaborate my thoughts more than a mere two word "Thank you".

It is really polite and I believe there is nothing wrong but that should not be all of your comments. You can always add some more substance to the comments is it not? I'm happy that you have already found the best way to do it. And I hope this topic will help many others.

Is That true madam? will if that the case, i will start to comment back on the responders of my discussions from now on. But I think I can comment them all back because some of those who responded are quite annoying and I cant hardly understand what they mean. Or shall we say, their response are out of the topic. So better yet not comment back. Thanks for sharing another tip madam, these can help a lot of our earnings. Thanks again.

Ha!ha!ha! However annoying they responded, remember that their response gave you earning so forget about your annoyance you can always get back to them and tell them of your feelings in a respectful way. That way you let them realize their fault and at the same time you both earned for that exchange of discussion. Later on you might just end up as friends. What a happy world this mylot would be if that would happen always.

i always try to respond to a response that allows the discussion to go further or to simply add to what they said in my own opinion, either agreeing or not and possibly reasons why. Besides making money, it becomes so much more interesting if the discussion can turn into a conversation that continues with 1 or more people throughout the discussion. It adds another element to every discussion and makes it a bit more worthwhile to continue to come back to mylot. Plus you never know what you are going to learn with every conversation you have with someone or what they may open your eyes to

It's nicer when the conversation did not just end up in thank you! It feels good to receive thank you but when more thoughts are added there is a different touch. Like you said it becomes interesting when a discussion becomes a conversation. It is not good to just talk and talk and receiving no substantial response in return. Even if you are talking to somebody and you thought you were saying so many good things then you receive no response at all or simply thank you, it seems to be incomplete. It adds more element as you said. Thanks for your good thoughts!

i think that it is something that more people should start considering, yes starting or initially responding to a discussion, but try and leave the responses in a way that is going to create continued discussion, no reason not too and it is a good way to get to know other people, have fun while your earning, and take something away from the discussions

since the first day I though that way.. I really believe that mylot will know if you post a discussion and then thanks to everyone that responds.. It's seen so simple, but it will be noted.. Sometimes I just keep typing and typing when I really don't know what to write.. always keeping the point of the discussion in my post. Maybe it will not be a quality post but it will be really long an as now I just keep typing and typing.. I'm not very good with the English but I'm doing my best.. So this is all that I have to say
@salonga (27775)

Oh no problem if you are not good in English. What matter is is your are keeping the point of the topic and not going out of context. It also matters that what you type has sense otherwise your reader will stop reading your post if it turned out to be senseless. I hope you got my point! Have a nice day!

Thanks for the advice.. I'll keep your point in mind. I read better the English that I type it.. so, if someone is not understand me only have to ask again.. I think that's why I haven't got yet the better answer for a post.. I always try to translate my thought and answers into English so people can rate my responds.

I agree with you there...commenting back is like way of not only saying thank you for the response...but really to make more discussions out of the post...i don't thank everybody..that would be so time consuming...hehehe...but i do like to make comments too.

Thanking everybody is really time consuming and consuming your time without earning anything is even worse. Well to some, it is okay for them if they will not earn for saying thank for they say at least they have shown their gratitude. Indeed there is nothing wrong when we say thank you, but where is the logic of not following the guidelines here at mylot. The guidelines put that as one of the Dont's but if still one will insist on saying thank you, how do you call that person then?

A discussion is supposed to be two ways, back and forth. That's what makes it a discussion. So I think it makes perfect sense to comment back to comments made on your discussions. Merely thanking someone isn't what the powers that be want, but I'm sure they're thrilled by discussions that go on and on.

Yes, that is the point that we should not miss. If the response to our discussion is just a short thank you or no respond at all, how can the discussion be healthy! Many people here just don't realize that. Worse, they are missing the true essence of mylot and much more they are missing the earnings that they could have easily taken if they did. Have a nice day!

The discussions are called discussions because you discuss something with someone . So I often make it a point to respond to all those who comment to my discussions. No, I don't say "thank you" because my first posts here were commented by old members when I thanked all the posters. I comment because I want to show to the poster that I had appreciated his or her answering my discussion. Yes, it does not earn me points but it has earned me lots of friends - and that was why I cam to MyLot: friends! I didn't even know when I signed up that MyLot pays its users; I was just looking for a forum to find new friends.

Oh I believe your good intention. I was like that before. But when I read the rules, I was shocked that it was one of the Dont's. I was asking myself why not? What is wrong with these two kind words after all? But mylot knows best. They put that guidelines for good purpose and abiding by the rules is certainly beneficial to us. I encourage you to read the guidelines. The link is at the lower part of this window. Happy postings!

Well right you are! That is the proper conversation. I believe there is always something worthy to comment about. It takes just some patience and motivation. If the earning will motivate one to comment longer then here it is. Earnings will surely add up if we make long comments. I believe that is the main problem of some why they don't give back long comments. They were thinking they were just wasting time without earning any amount. But in my personal opinion it is wrong.
