What is their name, and what do you have in common? How did you meet and how long have you known each other? My best friend is called Laura and we met at school. We've known each other for nearly ten years now. We have the same sense of humour and similar taste in music and films.

I really do believe that women speak about best friends more than men do. Yet, as a man, I have to say that I have a best friend who I could never, ever say a bad thing about. Well, maybe, a couple of things, but we are our own person and we have our differences. If you find two humans (outside of twins, etc.) that are so much alike, I sure would love to meet them. Anyway, my best friend is Alex. I have had many great friends in my life, but no one like Alex. He has a passion for his faith, he has a passion for his family (wife Carrie and daughter Christina (just turned 2 years old)) and he has a passion for life. He is a caring individual, one that I have never met the likes of in my 43 years of life, that is, outside of my parents and my wife. Alex is a great public speaker as I just learned when he gave the Christmas Eve message at our church and then to top this off, Alex is a great musician. He can play the guitar unlike no other, and he has a voice that is different and has a great passion in it like I have never heard. I myself am not a musician, but he has inspired me to learn the guitar and to continue to practice on my singing. Alex and I met at church. He and I are both tenors in our church choir. He and I both had parts in Christmas plays and there was even a time during practice when we got on stage and he took my lines without telling me making me stand there staring into space wondering, "what do I do now? Thanks so much, bud." We laughed a great deal after that. Alex and I became great friends over time. We have known each other now for over 5 years and he has been a great inspiration to me. He calls me each and every morning on his way to work and sometimes I wonder what it is that we can talk about, but we laugh and we pray together. We keep in touch during the day as well when something new comes up. We camp and we hike together. Anyway, this is a best friend that I can truly say that we will know each other for ever, he is nothing short of a brother to me and he is someone who I would go into battle with and take a bullet for if need be. Have a great weekend and a great Labor Day!

My best friend is called Martin. He's one of my referrals on this forum, so I'm not going to big him up too much incase it goes to his head ;) But seriously, he is an amazing person. He's always there for me whenever I need him, and has the most fantastic sense of humour ever, and I love him to pieces for it. I know that he'll be there for me always, and I will always be there for him as well.

My best friend is Christina. We have known each other since we were in diapers. Went to the same schools until she moved away to live with her mom. Since then I have seen her a few times but we mostly keep in contact via the web or phone. She now lives 3 hours away from me, in the army, working, and a single mother of 3 girls. I still live close to our hometown (12 miles away) and she comes to visit me when she is close to where I am. We have pretty much the same sense of humor, same taste in clothes, same thoughts on raising our children and everything. We have known each other for 29 years and holding.
