If at the and of the day you have these coins in your pocket, what do you with them? Do you bring all of it the following day? Do you leave it in your car for use in parking fees, do you give it to your kids for their piggy banks or do you have your own jar where you put all your loose change? I keep mine in a small jar and I deposit it in our bank account when the amount is substantial or when the jar is already full. How about you share to us how you keep your coins?

I immediately separate the quarters for laundry. Then the other coins go into a large peanut-butter jar that I have had for years. When the jar is full, I take it to the Capital One Bank in my neighborhood, where they have a machine where you pour in the coins, and you get a slip with the total which you bring to the teller to get cash. It's exciting to do that. Last time, I had $54.00 in there!

I have a change jar on my desk. When the jar gets full I roll them up and use the funds to pay a bill. We have $1 and $2 coins here, so a full jar can be up to $300! It's a nice painless way to save up money on a daily basis.

I empty my purse and put them in a container that I have, actually I am saving them for my daughter. I do know some peopel save their quarters for rainy days when they don't have money and it comes in handy.

I always save my change and when I have enough I treat myself to something nice like some sort of cloths or a meal out for my husband and I. Some times when money is short I have to use them for everyday items though. I am afraid this happens more now with the depression that every country seems to be going through and the inflation.

This is not me but my husband's dad has a big empty old peanut butter jar shaped as the old teddy bear's and we give him our pennies. But also sometimes we keep the loose change for laundry or scratch tickets or candies or what have you.The less you have the more you get seems to pile up in the end is my motto.Sometimes also my husband and his family use it for poker night. There are many ways in which you can dell up the money's.It is up to you of course to decide how and what you do with it.I was reading from another person's response that you can go into the grocery stores here in Canada ~I don't know about USA~ and use the big green machine to put all you loose change and they add up in the end.It prints out a reciept that you then take to the cashier. But I believe this machine takes a percentage of your moneys~not alot though~.

I have pence and pounds in my home country. I like to keep the £1 coins in my large purse and other coins in small purse. When my smaller purse gets heavy I empty all the coins into my toddler son's money lion. Then when it gets full I put all the coins though a coin star at one of my local supermarkets. I get a receipt and then the casher gives me the money. Then I put this money into my toddler's bank account.

I tend to either spend them OR when i get home i drop them into a glass milk bottle. When the bottle gets filled up I count them out take them into the bank and deposit them. Pennies I actually keep in a separate piggy bank and roll them when it gets full. I save the rolls to take in with the rest of the change.

I usually throw them all in a big jar, and then once a year I cash them in and use them towards a vacation. They can really add up.

Dont worry Tamara, it is definitely on. I just was not posting lately. I got a full-time job and I am usually tired when I get home. I only post when I have spare time. Cheers

What are the things I usually do with my nickels or coins in my pocket is that it is my wife who always keep them in one place and she usually put it in an empty can of Pringles and the last time she save it in a penny can for children this coming Ramadan times to buy for anything that we can used during this Candy days for children here in Kuwait but at this time she bought the penny that she save into a white gold ring that worth 78kd, It is funny that out of all the coins she save she turned the penny into a white gold......

for the 50 cent, i keep them cause they look like gold coin. while the 10 cent, i spend them all. seeing them as if seeing a devil, don't wanna keep them more than a minute. why? they are light and small, inconvenient to carry, scatter around in pocket.

Most of mine I save for a while in a container, or the end table next to my bed, then I take them to a coinstar machine when they add up a bit, but I don't get cash, I get a gift certificate for something, like Circuit City or iTunes. To get a gift receipt they don't take any of the money out of it. It's easier to deal with because no money is taken out and I can use it for something I would have purchased anyway like something for my computer or whatever.

Hi Everyone! I too throw all my change into a jar, and when the jar is full I separate the coins by Date! I have a budding collection of pre-1960 coins, the oldest being an 1836 penny, and at last count just over $400 in a 60's jar and just over $600 in a 70's jar!! All of the coins that are 1980 or newer go into another jar, and when full, it goes to my checking account! Other coins I save include: One each of the State Quarters Any coins dated 1959--Year I was born! Coins from around the World

Like most people in this thread, I save my spare change. I remember when I was a kid, I saved up pennies in giant jars, and when I finally cashed them in, I recieved about 50 dollars, which is a lot when you're a kid. :)
