How about some smoked sausages baked with sliced herbed potatoes and carrots. A salad, green beans and corn bread. Now that is good. ANd fairly simple to make. We are on the run tonight so we will be eating delivered pizza :(

That sounds delish! I love sausages. Try adding some honey to your cornbread when you make it. I love it that way. Cheers

We just where talking to each other, what to cook tonight? I thought about making Nasi Rames myself. But yesterday we ate the green beans already in another composition and there is also no chickenfilet to put in it. So, no Nasi Rames. Maybe tomorrow. For this night I pulled out a large, very large, portion of leftover macaroni from a while ago, right out of the freezer in the defrost option in the microwave. I calculated at at about 600 grams, but I think its more. I need to turn the whole lot around within 5 minutes to let the other half defrost. I put a new jar of tomatosaus with basil on top of it when its done. So thats our dinner tonight!

Yesterdays dinner wasnt as wonderful as I typed in first. The defrosting was messy, the pasta I scraped off the frozen block was reheated with tomatosauce with herbs. But because we both dont like overcooked pasta, it was horrible! I ate one bite, hubby take 2 bites, and then we ordered a pizza in.

LOL Sometimes that is the way to go if you are in a pinch. At my house peanut-butter is the stand-by in case of disaster. You just never know when it's going to be a flop recipe. Hope it goes better.

I love fruit pies. did you buy or did you make it from scratch? Can you share your recipe? I generally like to make those sorts of things adjusted to the slow-cooker. Do you know how to adjust it to that? Thanks ahead.

Hi MH4444, I get like this a lot too never knowing what to cook. Last night I had butterfly chicken with a mushroom and gongonzola and leek sauce with gratin potatos, the night before chicken fajitas and today steak and onion pie with roast potatos and veg. Tomorrow I am working so will probably grab a pizza and salad in my break. Ellie :D

Our evening meal was ages ago, but I did some sausages marinaded in a sauce made up of brown sauce, worcestershire sauce, honey and tomato puree. I was not too sure about it at first, but I went ahead anyway and I cooked them in the oven and then just served it with some oven chips and crusty bread and it was really nice! Amazing what you can make out of things in the cupboard, the best part was that the kids enjoyed it too and ate every bit!

I know, it's amazing what you can come up with. I usually am inspired and creative with it; but it's been a fun day and time is a premium this evening. Thanks for the lead of an idea. Sounds like meat pie.

Well, it is almost midnight here so our evening meal is long since finished. However, Saturday is my lazy day (as well as every other day - ha, ha) so I went down to our local chinese restaurant and got a couple of takeaways. I had a kingprawn curry with mushrooms and boiled rice and my husband had a chicken curry with onions, mushrooms and fried rice. For our evening meal tomorrow, I will just have cold ham, lettuce, eggs, tomatoes, coleslaw and a few other things which go with a cold meat salad.

It seems like asian is quite the choice tonight. Sounds very good; but I want to make something at home here. It's a night in. I live in the mountains so there is no delivery. Sounds yummy though.

Someone we know gave us a bunch of deer meat so we put it in our freezer. They gave us deer cubed steak, deer sausage, tenderloin, bbq deer meat, etc... So I laid out some of the deer cubed steak tonight. I'm not sure what I'll make with it yet. Maybe some creamed potatoes and some kind of veggie.

I have never had deer meat. How does it taste? It is wild tasting? I think it would make stew for sure. Add cranberries and pumpkin for a traditional autumn dish.

I'm not a fancy cook but just like to make basic things. Tonight's menu is baked chicken thighs, mashed potatoes, corn, and a green salad. I'm very good with baking chicken and always use olive oil (you will never have dry chicken when cooking with olive oil). I like to oil the pan down first, then rinse off the chicken thighs, add a little more oil to each piece, sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder and Adobo seasoning over them. Cook them for about an hour and a half at 300 degrees, turn them over repeat with oil and seasonings and bake an additional hour and a half. Comes out perfect every time! My family loves the chicken that way! Always juicy and delicious! Hopefully that gives you an idea! Good Luck!!

I marinated some chicken thighs in Greek salad dressing marinade, pan fried them in olive oil until they were brown on both sides, then chopped some Spanish onions, added some more oil, and put them to bake about 30 minutes at 350 deg. and then I made some curried rice, had a green salad and some green beans. We also had butterscotch pudding for dessert.

I did not cook anything for dinner tonight. My son and I were out with my sister around dinner time, so we stopped at Taco Bell. My son got 2 cheese roll ups and I had a new Volcano Taco. Talk about a fire in your mouth!

Taco Bell works in a crunch. I have never tried the Volcono Taco. What's in it? Is it good? I like their soft Taco Supremem's.

hi MH, When I got home this morning from working a nightshift, I put a roast in my crock pot. I always love making roasts on sundays for my family. It just seems so proper to do that. I guess I learned that habit from my mom. She would always make a ham, roast etc on sundays as well. I let it thaw out last night. By six o'clock it was ready and I made some instant potatoes and frozen vegetables to go with it. It was real good. Have a great evening

Sounds lovely. My grandmother always did that. I really miss her so much. Do you have a ham recipe for the crock-pot/ slow-cooker? I know a great one for roast. It's called college dinner. LOL A little of this, a little of that. I learned it way back in school. like ramen-noodles, I crave it once in a while just from the times I often ate that for dinner.

When I cook a ham in the crock pot, I will put some honey on it to glaze and it tastes so good. When I put a roast in the crock pot I usually put in some consome soup or beef broth.

Recipes are not allowed to post here, so I'll just mention that my Daughter in Law will be cooking egg with bitter gourd and her dish is the best I've tasted so far. It has just the right taste of saltiness and bitterness that goes together to give a totally awesome dish.
