Wine or Beer?

my brothers and in laws are having a drinking session right now. but prior to that they were arguing on what to buy for this drinking trip. LOL. however, they finally made up their mind to buy bottled beers instead of wine or a brandy. yet, if i were to choose, i would rather have a white or a red wine which i think is healthier but luckily, i don't drink anymore because i am having stomach upset even just a sip of it. how about you? which do you prefer and why?
