Do we hibernate as soon as we reach payout?

Is it Winter yet? Isn't it still some time away? A peculiar trend I have noticed over the time I spent at myLot is that the population here seems to dwindle at the transition point between end-month and month-start. Responses are generally slower to come in and fewer in number. People are also more brief in their replies. So, are we all polar bears here who hibernate as soon as we reach payout? Most of us try to meet the minimum payout in time for the last daily calculation of the month. Some stop "work" as soon as the minimum amount is reached. Others get less enthusiastic. Are you one of those who hibernate? Or do you work hard 24/7, 365 days a year? Or... ? Do share your thoughts. :D PS.: I do know polar bears don't hibernate in winter.

Hi lordwarwizard! Yeah I think I hibernated when I reached payout. I reached it earlier with still almost a week to go so I decided to take it slow until the end of the month. This is my 2nd payout and during my first I never took a rest and just kept going on. But last month I felt I am not happy anymore and just tired and so I took a lot of rest. I still posted a few though and responded to some. Most of the time I've been resolvng my unresolved discussions. It's less tiring for me than responding and posting. I also did not stayed late at night here in mylot after reaching payout. After checking my earnings if I still earned a few cents then its time to sleep. But now that its the start of another month, I think I have to work again here. I don't like cramming so its better to start early so it'll be early to reach payout hehe. Ciao!

tsk tsk - You are in the running for best response!
Hi iskayz! I understand what you mean. It is perfectly understandable for you to get tired after "working" so hard. These few days, I have been relatively more active at myLot. I am also feeling the toil now and in fact right this moment, I am kinda fatigued by posting.

Well I usually do . I just received my payout this month and so far my daily contribution in here somehow dropped as when last month when I was able to hit my payout level. Now my earnings just 50% or what I earned last month. I do not know why but then I really slow down a bit and try to boost up my contribution again maybe this month of September.

I'm not active as much anymore so even though I missed payout last month I wasn't really bothered by it. I have made payout this month by the looks of it. I am only on here today because I've got nothing else to do. Was suppose to go to the park with my son but he doesn't want to go till later this afternoon - might be a better time as it will be a little cooler then.

Yup, I am not too bothered when I miss payout too because myLot has such a great track record that I know I can pick up where I left off next month and my money won't run anywhere.

I don't stop working as soon as I reach payout. On the other hand, I don't "work hard 24-7" here to begin with. I like to make payout but it isn't the most important thing for me here. I come on and post when I can. For instance, I haven't made payout for two months but I am fine with it. I do however tend to be on mylot more in the cold months than in the warm weather.

Same here, I am not always active at myLot too. Sometimes I am relatively active, other times I just drop off the radar totally lol.

Hi bunny, You shouldn't be too far off. Try "sprinting" a little and "suddenly", you will have your first payout!

It might be the fact also that at the end of the month a lot of discussions are deleted by the powers of be! And people are wary of responding in case their discussions and responses are deleted, so wasting everyone's time! That could be a reason. Me I don't care I post 24/7 but regardless of that I would still love to hibernate, but I'd do it the other way round I'd hibernate in the hot months and come out when it's much cooler, it's the fur coat you see, can't take it off and it kills poor wolfie the humidity! Of course people may be waiting to see if they are paid first then once they are paid the enthusiasm comes gushing back!

Nah... I think discussions are "always" deleted. I think myLot did mention before somewhere that they periodically do "pruning" (like we are bonsai lol) and it is an ongoing process - so it is not just end-month. PS.: Jimbos are on a roll LOL.

Geez, I just came back from a long hibernation, lol! The med had muddled my brain to pieces. :) I look at my earnings and gosh...not even $1. I started out working 24/7. Too hyper and addicted and even with the near payout time, I was indefatigable. The friends was what gave me the inspiration to stay on. And...ok, the earnings as well. :P However, after my brief suspension from mylot "pout," the excitement began to dwindle. Like the passion was snuffed out of my spirit, I suddenly began to feel bored and burnt out. I admit the last time I came back was for the sake of reaching the minimum payout. Other than that, I only hopped in to taint your threads with my bunny charms, lol!

Well, if it is at $1+, it only means you "just" claimed your payout "not long ago". What to do baby, no more Jem... I have to find a way to pay my phone bill. Yea I remember those crazy days when I was so hyped up 24/7 too...

Before I jump to conclusions, let me guess that you did not set your minimum payout to $10. Tell me if that is right because I hope to think at 1617 posts, you would have accumulated at least $10...

Here you noticed something opposite from me. I notice right at the end of the month my inbox and mylot get so much busier then for the first week its pretty quiet here. I dont know if its payout or just life. I check in every day so long as i have internet access.

Really? I feel that the whole transition period is affected. Like NOW is part of the transition period. It is 1 Sep over here and the first week may possibly be slow if nothing unusual happens. It is not always like that but usually so. Just what I think. Cheers!

I notice a spike right at the end of every month where it seems like its busier here. I agree that the first week of the month tends to be slow.

This is a first for me I will not reach payout this month. I am not going to hibernate, I am going keep going strong as much as possible the whole month. I do have a question..If your payout is set a $10.00 and you go over the 10. At the time of payout will you just get the 10 or all of what you have earned that month?

Hi Chevee, you are still relatively new here so ride on the momentum and "work" out. You will feel real good when you get your first payout and can tell yourself for sure that myLot is not a scam. I have been paid many times by myLot so I trust this place a lot. However, I can understand what a new user must be going through - I was new once too and despite all the claims by others, I won't believe till I get paid myself. As for your question on payout, the 2 real or fake jimbos have answered it rightly. The total account balance on the last day of the month will be your payout amount in about 2 weeks' time. Cheers!

I am still pluggin away. I have already made payout and figure every little bit counts. I have some big ebay fees to pay this month, so mylot money will come in handy. For us in the States this is the last big weekend for the summer, tomorrow is a holiday for us. That might have something to do with it being slow this month. I have noticed before what you said though. I have also noticed during our winter months things pick up and summer months people are not as active. Everyday I get on the computer I am trying to make some money. It might not be much but some is better then none. Good luck to you.

I just stay the same nowadays, I have just been sticking to answering friends questions as I got fed up with trawling through rubbish to find something worth answering. I only reach payout every 2nd or 3rd month but by answering friends questions I know the time spent has been worthwhile.

Actually depends on the month. This month I'm prolly gonna be super tired...so maybe I'll hibernate for a few days, but I'm back on mylot again..and I really need the money at the end of each month now, so I won't stay asleep long!

I work about the same all the time....I respond to less discussions now than I used to simply because I am tired of the trolls and the people that just don't understand that there are opinions other than their own. I am also tired of those discussions that people never respond to you. I no longer go looking for discussions to get involved in simply because people don't understand what discussions really are. It takes a lot longer to reach payout this way, but that isn't of primary importance for me.

hi lordwarwizard nope I do not hibernate when I reach payout as I am bored with retirement so I mylot a lot every day as usual. much more fun than watching stupid sit coms on the televsion every day, and more enlightening too. I often learn new things from mylot friends and that is always good. I am just having fun and earning a bit of money too.

Yes, it generally is quieter the first few days of the month when the pressure is off. I'm still here and will post as I normally do, but its the last few days that I will sometimes push. Weekends are generally slower on myLot, so it's funny to see how people react when the end of the month is on a weekend, and now here it is on a three-day weekend (in the U.S. anyway). I wonder how many won't have the time to be here and will be disappointed. Not me - I'm satisfied with my August activity!

You said it right, "when the pressure is off". I have trouble with the time zone since I am in Singapore. We are sort of opposite of USA so my weekend may not be your weekend hehe.
