Hello, You may call be primitive and weird but I have lived without a TV for 8 years and I don't think it is that difficult to live without it. I keep myself updated with the news from the internet and newspapers. I get a DVD once a week and watch on my computer. This way I get more time with my family and friends and also peruse hobbies. I read somewhere that television kills our imagination and thinking power whereas reading enhances it.

I need my computer more than my TV. It is more interactive and I am a shut in. TV is passive. Computers allow you to socialize.

I have lived for three years without a television. In fact it is now just about a year since I have bought my new television set. My kids were not with me and I was not too interested in television programmes. So I waited for the kids to be back from boarding and then bought the tv. And I did not miss it at all.

i'm doing without cable and tv now. thank god for the computer, and the internet. or i'd go stone crazy. lol since i don't have cable tv, than, i still do miss it. but the internet keeps me busy too, with all of the paid sites that i go to daily. it's a great thing that i still have my internet for my computer.

peaceful...less stressful. i truly believe that television is what has caused our lives to become so materialistic. we see something on television and then we decide that we must have it. people would have to depend on other sources to get the information they need i.e. news & weather. also, libraries would be busier and literacy rates would probably go up, since people would have to read more than they do now. speaking of which, without television, perhaps i could finally finish my reading list...which seems to have no end.

I didn't like television when I was a young child. I preferred to play with my toys. Then I got to enjoy watching television when I got to my teenage years. These days I have a small flat screen television that is in a book case with a DVD recorder. I only watch about one hour of television a day during the week and not at all at the weekend. I use my laptop for many hours each day. I can quite easily imagine a life without television but not a life without a laptop or a computer. My television gets free view and so it has 5 main channels and many extra channels. I watch channel 5 and Fiver most of all to watch Home and Away. I like to watch programs about travel and family history.

I can prob live without tv, but i have to have my internet and music...well yeah both..lol. There are only like 2 shows on tv that i cant live without, AMERICAN IDOL and HOUSE...so if i can keep up with those on internet im happy. I have to have music though because i cant sit at home not having some sort of noise going on unless im sleeping..lol

I thought of that before and I think that as long as I have internet, why bother with TV. I hate commercials with a passion and hate watching 5 minutes of a show and 5 minutes of commercials. Every time I find a show to watch, its on commercials. I end up back on the net.

I would go crazy without tv because i spend most of my time watching it. Without it i wouldn't be kept up to date. I'd have to go outside more to find out things.
