Happy Labor to all my friends here at MYLot!.. I hope that many of you are getting to enjoy cook-outs and family fun! I can remember when I was very little my Dad taking my me, my sisters and brothers to a local amusement park on Labor Day. He would stop and get a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. It was very good and lots of fun! How did you spend Labor Day when you were a little kid!

We went to family reunions a couple of years. We used to have blockparties in my grandpas nieghborhood. in 1997 we got a new way to celebrate as my baby sister was born on Labor Day. With her husband born on april fools day they have become the only birthdays in the family I can remember except Louise'(i wouldn't dare forget hers). The Canfield Fair has been traditional with most people in my part of Ohio because Labor Day marks it's last day as well as the end of summer and the return to school.

OOPS!!! I meant 1977, though discussing it with Louise it might have been 1976. in any case it was a great reason to celebrate. unless you were my mom, in labor for 20+ hours on labor day. The doctors actually gave her a sedative and decided to try again the next day thinking Ina wasn't quite ready. he left the room for a few minutes and returned to find my sister waiting for him. She's insisted on doint her own way ever since.

I hope you had a good relaxing day today. I stood in, did nothing special. I live in a big city so I never get to go to any bbq's over here. When I was young the highlight of Labor Day was watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon every year.

hello louise my family and i went to Kentucky over the Labor Day weekend to go to a family reunion on my hubby's side of the family. they hold one every year. we all had a blast and had a swimming pool to get in where that we stayed as well. whoo hoo! the boys enjoyed that very much. to answer your question about how did i spend my Labor Day weekends growing up?, i watched the Jerry Lewis marathon that comes on every year. for around eleven years now, i haven't been home to watch it, i guess that it still comes on? have a beautiful day today!
