Foreign Policy Experience; Who Really Has It?

There have been many discussions here on MyLot about the foreign policy experience of each candidate and their running mates or the lack thereof. In the following article by Thomas Sowell, an African American not afraid to call Obama on his empty rhetoric, makes a case for the McCain/Palin ticket as having what is needed to develop a workable foreign policy since most every president down through history hasn't had any either! Here is Mr. Sowell's article: http://townhall.com/columnists/ThomasSowell/2008/09/03/foreign_policy_experience

Foreign policy experience the only foreign policy experience Obama has is his summer tour of Europe. I have to scratch my head ever time some one knock Gov. Sarah Palin for her lack of foreign policy experience. How can anyone knock Palin and then with a straight face say the Obama is ready to be President? About Thomas Sowell I would like for him to be given a cabinet position under McCain/Palin. I have read his articles on his economy view so I think he would make a very good Secretary of Treasury but that is just me.

Gewcew, Thanks for the comment. I have to say, McCain could appoint much worse than Mr Sowell! I believe he is very insightful and would be a credit to the McCain administration!

He makes some very good points. The bottom line is that she has executive experience, whereas neither Biden or Obama have any at all. Talk about OJT. I wonder..., is there a Leadership For Dummies book available for the clueless dems?

Destiny, Thanks for the comment! No, I don't believe the manual exists but it is poised for publication IF Barack and Joe raise their right hand! Only two copies will be sold though!

Thanks for that article, Rodney. Mr. Sowell's comments are exactly what I have been thinking all along. The democrats, hoping to put Obama in the PRESIDENCY with NO foreign relations experience, are trying to deflect attention from that fact by continually harping on Sarah Palin's lack of experience in that area. Now it appears that Joe Biden's foreign policy experience is a sham as well. I guess they hope no one will question his since he has been a senator so long. What a crock of hooey they are trying to pass off on the American people.

Clrumfelt, Thanks for the comment! I really attribute the democrats' reaction to the panic they feel right now knowing they have been upstaged and out-veeped by Mc! First and foremost; whereas John McCain stays true to his ideals by choosing a varitable maverick in Palin, Barack "chooses" (I really don't believe Barack chose anyone)Joe Biden, a 30 year Washington insider which goes in the exact opposite direction of "a change you can believe in"!
