Hello everyone, Let me tell, that this past weekend turn from fun into worrying about my cat Peewee, I had put mediation for the fleas and which we do every three months. Nothing every happen. Well on Sunday, My husband and I took off, when we get a phone call from our daughter saying that peewee is shaking, I told her to put him in my room and see what hppens, anyway long story short, he winded up in the hospital, the medication was toxic, and OMG, the bill that we had to pay. We are now looking into getting health insurance for the cats. I rather pay 35.00 a month for 3 and 1,000 for one, which is what it cost me. I know so of you would had put him to sleep, but when my sister saw my daughter crying, she just couldn't do it. Has anything like this happen to you?

I am so sorry to hear that Peewee was sick...Where did you purchase the medication from?....Is it something you need to let the maker of the product know about?...or was it just a reaction Peewee had and had nothing to do with the medication being faulty?... I am sure it all had to be very scary...poor little one...I would invest in the insurance especially since you have more than one kitty.. I hope all goes well..hugs to Peewee...

Hi Feona, I think that the one I used on him was old, even though the vet said that they never expire. He was licking his back, and I guess that's how he got sick. I still think that one med was old, and since my mother aways keeps them I used it on him. The vet told us not to buy the meds at the story, but to buy them at the vets. He is much better now, and I'm giving him his medication, which knock him out. Thank you so much for asking and thank you for your response.

That's not a good thing! Toxic? I am glad you were able to help him. I don't blame you for getting insurance. The vet bills seem to cost almost as much as a doctor's visit. It's crazy! I don't think I could have any of my pets put to sleep unless there was no other choice. If there is a way to save them, I am going to save them.

Hi loves, I know, I kind of new the medication was any good, but my mother swore that it was. Now he is running around like before. If we had the vet insurance we would have save 1,000. but I guess we all learn the hard way. I also would hate to put my animal to sleep. thank you loves

Hi kaleegirl, I am sorry to hear this and great to know that PeeWee survived! Hopefully, she is very fine right now! I haven't experienced like this in our cat...Ohhh..One time we had a loving cat who walk away one day and never come back..My Parents told me that one night, she was enjoying her time outside and she was attacked by another cat and maybe it was the reason why she was scared to go home... We searched here all over but we never found her!

You know it so hard not to get attached to our pets. peewee is much better, already running outside. I thought for sure the peewee was a gonner, Like I said before, once they are gone, I'm not getting anymore, It's hard when you lost them. thank you for your responds

Poor Peewee he got very sick, and thank you for responding. Yes it was, we always use the same medication, but what happen it drip down and he was able to lick it off and that was happen. The vet told us not to buy them over the counter,we have to buy them through them. but we have them mail to us. It's the same thing. Now I'm scared to use them. he is much better running around. thank you again for asking.
