Where did you get your dog? From a rescue or from a friend? I got one of mine from an ad in the paper. Someone was giving away free puppies and it was the kind I was wanting. I was so excited. My other one my daughter got from a lady who was standing outside WalMart selling puppies. I remember it was right after Christmas. My daughter wanted to spend her money on a hair dryer but when she say the puppies she decided she wanted that more. So, she asked her Dad and he said yes so she bought the puppy. Now she's married and I have the dog LOL. I don't mind tho. She's a sweet dog and is attached to me.

We used to have a cat that just wondered into our yard one day and stayed. My husband said "don't feed it" but of course we did LOL. Then it never left - until last year when it disappeared. I really miss her.

I once had a cat that I loved a lot but she had a bad habit of getting into people's cars and one day she came up missing. Then friends of my brothers came over and said they found her in there car and just let her out on the side of the road. They knew she was mine . . . some people are just wrong!

We just brought our dog home from a rescue center yesterday, and im so glad I did he is lovely, lively with other dogs but he has been able to do what he likes for a while with being a stray and then in kennels so he just needs to learn some public manners lol! At home he is an angel!

We got Zoey from the shelter. We had walked around and looked at all the other dogs but they weren't what we were looking for. Before we walked out, we were talking to one of the ladies that works there and she said she would be right back. A minute later she comes back out carrying Zoey. And that was it. She acted really shy but we now know it was an act. LOL...she's a terrier mix and crazy! She's also one of the clumbiest dogs I've ever seen. But we still love her and we're happy to have her.

Most of our's are purchased from show breeders since we raise and show dogs but we also have a rescued senior. We got Dixie, an aussie x brittany, when she was just 4 wks old. We rescued the litter from the pound on D-day. My sister in law has her sister. They are 12 yrs old now. Dixie has saved my life (when I left the stove on while pasturizing goat milk and fell asleep... house full of smoke...) She also saved a 3 yr old boy from drowning. She's quite the wonder dog! :)

Wow, that's so cool how dogs can do that. I've heard of dogs saving people. Dogs are so smart. They can be the best friend a person can have. So loyal.

We have two dogs. One is a chocolate labrador retriever which we bought from a prominent breeder in our area. The other is a yellow labrador retriever who we got from a friend. His dad has won a lot of competitions so we have high hopes for the yellow lab. He has already shown very high intelligence and is only 9 months! I love my dogs so much but when I get my own place (right now I am in college, living with my parents) I think I will adopt from a shelter because I will just want the dogs for pets I don't want them to compete and stuff. There are so many dogs in shelters, I want to take them all in! I will probably end up like an old cat lady except dogs instead of cats. lol.

Three of my current dogs came from where I work- my boss shows/breeds Miniature Schnauzers, and two of my guys were born with health problems and couldn't be sold or kept for showing/breeding, so I took them. The third was in trade for my paid vacation lol. My Weimaraner came from the humane shelter, and my newest Miniature Schnauzer "Joey" was brought in by a grooming customer and he asked us to find him a home- the man had cancer and couldn't care for him anymore. Joey was in the kennel for a few weeks and no one wanted him, and spring break was coming and we didn't have room for him anymore... so I brought him home. The second he walked in the door it was like he'd been here forever.

I bought my dog from a reputable breeder from British Columbia and she (Nakita) was flown in to me Labor Day weekend 3 years ago to Ontario where I live. I was so excited to that day and when she flew in to the airport where I work, the ramp guys thought that she was a bear cub because she was small, black and really fluffy as she is a long haired king german shepherd and the her coloring is black, silver and white. I just love her and so does the family.

I have one 12 mixed girl, and we got her totally by chance. One of our neighbors went to Poland and brought her back when she was barely 7-8 weeks old. The lady had to work, so the poor thing got left outside most of the day on a rope with just a bowl of water. I'd go over to play with her as often as I could, and sometimes when it got rainy I'd take her back to our house since that house was closed. Eventually, the lady had to go back to Poland for a few weeks to take care of some things, and she asked if we could take care of the dog for her. My dad said either we take her in forever, or we don't take her in at all. So, we ended up taking her in forever, and it was a great choice. She's a wonderful guard dog, even though she's barely 1 1/2 feet tall, and she's probably one of the most conscientious dogs I've had the chance to meet. We're lucky to have her.

Awww. I rescued my puppy from the pound about 9 months ago. She is my baby! She is a beagle-pitt mix. Strange combination, but I wouldn't trade her for the world. She is really smart, sometimes too smart for her own good though!

I got my dog Cohen from a co-worker who's neighbors had puppies. I had just lost my other dog Quincey a week earlier and I was lonely. After 2 years we moved to a place that had a fully fenced in yard. Then I knew Cohen needed some company, so off to PetSmart I went and outside was a rescue group. It took me a few minutes but there she was very timid and shy, black as coal and sad eyes. I brought her home and she spent that night under the shed. I left for work the next day and when I got home, she acted like she had been there forever. It took some coaxing to get her to come in the house for her first time (I don't think she had ever been inside a house before). That was 10 yrs ago and Katie Scarlett is still with us. She is the sweetest dog I've ever had and quite the guard dog.

Hi there! I got my dog from a breeder. I was looking for a shih-tzu and asked my sister's help to find a dog breeder who sells shih-tzus. Luckily she had a friend who breeds alot of dogs and currently there's a male shih-tzu puppy for sale. I bought my first and had my second puppy as a puppy share from a friend. I'm planning to have a female now so I can breed too. I think buying a puppy from a breeder is good though a bit expensive but you can be sure that the puppy's breed line is healthy. Ciao!
