Yes, I do think that spank and yell more at their children. I work in Washington, DC and see it almost every day how they treat their children. In fact I used to work in an office which was primarily black women and they told me that there culture is to spank children whenever in order to get their attention and make it clear that they are being punished.

I think it's a ridiculous question and there is no way anyone can answer that with any amount of accuracy.

There is no such thing as a ridiculous question. a ridiculous question is a question that is not asked. This isnt statistics, im not looking for an accurate answer. Anyway i think more black people do give spankings than white people. Im not talking about a little pat on the hand. Im talking about with a pat. Its seems people on the whiter side seem to give time out or a lil pat on the butt or hand. I dont think I heard of a timeout until I went to school.

I have no idea, but I know that I got spanked whenever I did something wrong or dangerous to me - I'm white.

I really can't say. I've seen both black and white mothers spank their kids or discipline them in some way.

I got my share of spankings. My children got their share, too. And, my daughter's kids have gotten their share, although they are growing up. I don't think there is any way you could tell which gave the most spankings unless you were in the family. All the families I know of have spanked their kids. But, now,lots of families since the SPOCK era do give them time out and don't believe in spanking their children. Bu I don't think a swat on the back end hurts a child, period.
