Why? It's basically a tomato sauce. Ask your neighbors to the north. I know people in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, who do it. I have even seen Italians do it, lol. Of course it doesn't come close to the taste of a real Spaghetti sauce, but it's better than nothing.

certainly better than nothing, but the flavor should not be fantastic.as custom is typically American.but certainly also here someone has tried.talking about people who live them with Italian roots, or real Italians who speak Italian? :)

Real 100% Italians, inside and outside Italy. My sister used to be married to a guy from Calopezzati. We have been there plenty of times. If they don't have the time, ketchup will do.

I dont eat my pasta with ketchup I use spaghetti sacue with onion and garlic. I use ketchup on french fries, hambugers, and meat loaf.

I have never heard of eating spaghetti with ketchup before that does not sound good at all! I use Hunts spaghetti sacue the tradiional for my spaghetti I add garlic salt to the hamburger when I fry it to give it falvor.

Remember, enter into an Italian restaurant where people do not know how to speak Italian,is like entering a normal restaurant.only a true Italian knows make real spaghetti ;)

I wouldnt be doing that unless i was desperate for soemthing to eat and all I had in the cupboards and the frige. were hotdogs, spaghetti and ketchup.

Ketchup is too tangy, I think. Tomato sauce is good, with some meatballs are very good. Plus I do not think that ketchup tastes good when it is warm. But here we also have it with garlic bread and it is really good.

Spaghetti with ketchup?? That doesn't sound good at all. Spaghetti meat sauce is my favorite!
