My best friend's dead and his relatives won't let me talk to his father?????????

I just found out THE OTHER DAY that my best friend who I knew since pre-k died TWO MONTHS ago, the only way I can get in touch with his father (who is his ONLY remaining parent) is through his dad's relatives. However, two of whom I spoke with wouldn't give me his cell #, instead they said they'll call him first to see if its okay then call me back. I called one on thursday, she never called me back. I called one an hour ago, he didnt call me back either.
I gave these two people more proof than they can ask for that I was best friends with his dead son, they sounded like they believe me too. This is so stupid, I can't even get in touch with my best friend's only remaining parent, WTF?!? Am I doing something wrong or are these people stupid?

if you know his dad full name and address go to searchbug.com. do a search there u should be able to get his house number..
sorry for your lost. i lost a good friend and didn't find out until a year later.

I just tried searchbug and got no results for his name. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. It hurts so bad when you find out too late.

I'm sorry for your loss. That must be hard. And I don't really understand the situation. Since they are going through something traumatic right now I'm sure that they aren't trying to do this to you on purpose. But I hope everything works out for you and that you get in contact with them.
