When I graduated High school I moved 8 hours away for college, but since then I have never lived more than 25 miles from my hometown, it's good to be close to family and friends.

I still live in the town that I grew up in. I have moved away several times, the longest was for 7 years but for some reason I always seem to end up back home. There has been nothing wrong with the places I have moved to, and my town isn't anything special but it must have something for me to keep coming back.

Oh no....sorry to hear that. It's a blessing to be able to be close to her and spend time with her now.

Almost, but not quite. I was born in the town of Bolton in the north of England, where I went to school and then worked for a long while. I have worked in numerous towns before but usually for a period of time and then returned to Bolton. However, I am now living in Manchester where I bought a house about 7 years ago. I am still living within 12 miles of my home town.

I hated the town I lived in and couldn't wait to leave. I did leave to attend college in a different state, I couldn't believe how much I missed my home town. Thankfully, I don't live there now, as it is very small and there is not much opportunity in career field. I also have an "alternative lifestyle", I'm a lesbian, and it is not as accepted as it is in the community I live now.

No, I don't still live in my hometown, and yes, I moved away to go to college the fall after graduation. I seldom went home during college, so I consider when I started school as my date of leaving home.

It's good to have 2 places that are home. I moved to where I am now because it felt like home when I visited here.

When you move it gives family a new place to visit...think of it that way and that may help. Thanks for responding.

I moved when I got married. We have lived many different places, mostly in the western US. We did live in Germany for 3 years, though. It was a good experience, but I missed being close to my family. Now, most of them have passed away.

Yes, I still live in the town I grew up in, I never moved and I liked this place until recently: my town is becoming bigger and bigger and traffic is increasing, and I'm thinking about a new quieter place.

Thanks for responding. Do you live in a small town? Are there not a lot of jobs where you are...or just not the ones you want?
