Hi there guys! Our president proposed to increased her salary 100% from her current salary. What do you think about this? Trying to appraised herself instead on minding our fellow Filipinos who are in need. Please post your comment.

Wow that was fast! Well I think salary of 60k per month is an equivalent salary of a president or an executive in a private corporation. With the responsibilities of a president I think the president deserves for an increase. But, I think she just done it at the wrong time in her present administration. She was not able to tackle many issues thrown against her and now she is asking for an increase. It is a valid but ridiculous move on her part to really ask for an increase in her salary in the middle of an economic problem we are facing right now. But an increase of salary is indeed needed for a deservicng president.

Yes, I agree too that it's her right to have a good salary. Come to think of it! She's the highest ranking personality in our country and she deserves a good pay! That's better to hear instead of the so-called "unexplained wealth."

Hahaha! Yeah..! I'm fast. But anyways back to the topic. Yeah, but she assumes public office, that is the common interest is for the public not the her own sake. Compare to a private corporation that is, it is based on skills paid privately by the stakeholders of the companies to invest his knowledge for them.

That kind of person might come, but not in our time. We might as well be gone in this dimension.

If you can forget for a minute who is sitting as President, the proposal to increase the President's salary is justified considering how small it actually is in relation to her responsibilities. The salary scale in government for elected officials failed to take into account that they will be sitting like CEOs in large corporations, in this case: The Republic of the Philippines. Many years ago, congressmen were being asked to rationalize why the salaries of elected officials should be increased, and it was easy to support this because there are some mid-level managers in multinationals who earn more than the president, which is pathetic. They reasoned that if they earned more, then the incidence of corruption PROBABLY would not be as much. Back to reality... knowing how TIWALI they are now, it is of course appalling when you hear that their salaries will be increased a hundred percent. But also bear in mind, that they cannot benefit from the increase now because incumbents who pass the law are barred from enjoying this.

They might be deserving for the increase only if they're not corrupt.

As I have heard it from the news , they plan to this to also increase the salary of those below her. Since she is the highest paid in the government, raising her salary will also raise the salary of the government employee below her. That is how I heard it, or am I just dreaming about it

Yeah right. It's another thing, having her increased, then still not enough, going after the public fund. Whew! Pretend to open another deal again with other country to pull out billions of cash, then goes to own interest.

Yeah sure!!!! But to correct you the income that they declared are the ones that they got from their legal salary. And all of us are already shaking our heads. But what more if we try to check all of her "other" incomes. Maybe we'll be blown away how much she have sucked in to her pockets, by the way her sons who are also in the government service have also earned big this term.
