Smoking ban

What are your thoughts and opinions on the smoking ban? Are you a smoker and miss going out and having a ciggy with your drink and does it upset you we have to go outside in the rain and the wind. What will the goverment put into place next? Have you given up as a consequence or do you agree with the ban? All thoughts and comments appreciated.

hi brendan, i used to smoke. i just quit 4 month ago. i still think it is stupid. the bar we go to used to have a restaurant. they had to close the restaurant so people can still smoke. i think a lot of establishments loose money on that deal

I would be interested on how you quit? Do you feel better for it and does it bother you anymore. I see both sides to this arguament but do not like the Big Brother Prohibition rulings this country and other are beginning to enforce. What next? No cats allowed out without a leed in case they poop next door.

I can understand your view but can you imagine the feeling some smokers have now. In America they have just banned smoking in Prisons. Can you imagine the trouble it will cause with the inmates.

It doesnt affect me so much, cos in my local clubs there are outside smoking areas, so you can take your drink with you. Even though i am smoker I agree with the ban. Its better that other people dont have to suffer for my choices

i live in Las Vegas and they gave the small local bars a choice....you can either continue to serve food and ban smoking, or you can get rid of the food service part of your bar and allow smoking to continue. fortunately for me the local bar i hang out got rid of the food and kept the smoking. i go to a bar to drink not to eat, plus they still put out hot dogs and stuff during football games. of course here in Las Vegas you can go to the big casinos and smoke like a chimney.....and yes all you non-smokers, they have created no smoking sections in the casinos.

Being a non smoker i think it is great, no more smelly clothes when i come out of the pub/club, no more secondary smoking which could potentially shorten my lifespan and no more tab burns in my clothes too. Perhaps a slightly selfish attitude but I suppose the same could be said for all those smokers harming the general public around them by secondary smoking.
