Why is it that food always tastes better off of someone else's plate? This morning at breakfast my kids & I were having Frosted Mini Wheats (vanilla creme). My 2-year old son felt the need to get up in his highchair, crawl across the table, and eat the mini wheats out of my bowl. They were the same as his--same flavor, same milk type, same bowl shape--yet somehow he would only eat mine. Then I thought about it and realized that whenever I'm at a restaurant and try part of someone else's dinner, it always tastes better then if I order that same meal at the restaurant myself. So what do you think? Is food indeed better off of someone else's plate?

My son was that way when he was younger and sometimes still is and he is 8 years old. I guess it is partly my fault though that he still does it. I used to encourage him to eat off of my plate because sometimes it was the only way I was going to get him to eat at all.

I did the same thing with my kids--but they started it:) If they hadn't shown me that they'd only eat my food, I probably wouldn't have offered it to them.
