Wanted to know if all of us do the same thing for every new mylotter. If i open a discussion and see that the Mylotter is new here, i always make it a point to write a very small note to welcome them to the Mylot family. I started this cause somebody had done it to me on the third day of joining Mylot and it really made me feel nice to be welcomed!! And i wanted every member that join mylot to fell nice about joining and increasing the mylot family. Do you write a welcome note for the new mylot members???

I try to. I want them to feel welcomed and also to know some of the rules that they probably haven't read, like not posting referral links. I'm always glad to see new members!

That happens a lot, people join without knowing the rules of mylot. But then we too are here to help them out when needed! new members = new ideas, that is the fun of mylot.

well, i don't usually write notes or discussions intentionally welcoming new users. but i do welcome new users i find or notice. if they start discussions, i will write the note along with my responses. when they respond my discussions, i will send it as comments. yes you are right. we are a happy family here. and every new members should be treated as a new member of our family. you know, most of us will be very happy if we get a new baby in our family. some of established users also welcomed me in the early times my being on mylot. and yes, that's so encouraging and made me feel comfortable like at home. take care....

Yes that is what i meant, not that to litterally write e-mails welcoming them! That is why i mentioned that when you open a discussion and see that the person is new do you welcome them! I too send the welcome notes as a part of the response.

I don't normally send them a PM, but I do welcome them if they have started a new discussion and looked new. I guess it's our little way to welcome new people into the myLot community.
