Rising crime rates? / myLot

I know no city has 0% crime rate but it is so alarming that a great city like Philly has rising crime rates. I've visited last year and I think it's great but the rising percent of crime rates saddens me. I'll be coming back this october and I must admit I'm kinda scared of roaming around the city alone at night. IS this true what do you think of it?

Actually, on average around the US, the FBI has been consistently reporting lower crime rates. Philly does happen to be one of the exceptions but only recently. Los Angeles, because of its rapidly growing population is another.
