Anyone remember Jackie, Bunty, Loving, Love Affair, Oh Boy Fab mags for us girls in the 1970's. What mags did other people have from England and around the world.

Twinkle was my first one as well and our daughter's (she is 21 in a few days time). Sadly it isn't going anymore, I think it stopped when our daughter was about 9. I liked Bunty, the four Mary's was a good story. Don't think I ever read Mandy, they should bring these comics back, give the children some quailty reading. Oh Boy was the first teenage mag I read.

I remember the Bunty. My mother used to buy it every week along with the Girl's Crystal, the Shool Friend, the Dandy and the Beano. We used to follow the stories in every week and as soon as the comics, as we called them, came into the house, there was a scramble for them. They were the good old days.

I buy the Beano for my children... and I read it myself before they get home from school! I then read it again after they have read it. They think it is very funny that I read the comic and tell them about what the comic people got up to when I was a girl. I brought them the Dandy as well but they didn't really like that as much as the Beano. I loved Bunty and the story of the Four Mary's. I remember Girl but not School Friend or Girl's Crytal

I do not remember those magazines, but I used to have J17, Mizz and Smash Hits, I used to have smash Hits right up until I was about 16 or so I think. I used to love it because it always had really great pictures of my favourite popstars and plus it also used to have the lyrics to all the top songs in!

I'm an American. I remember Tiger Beat and Teen Beat, as another poster mentioned. I also remember a magazine called Bop. I also read teen people. Those are all the ones I can think of.

Loving is still going! I had Girl and School friend and could not wait for the paper boy to deliver them before I went to school but not allowed to take them so had to wait for them to read when got home and done the homework. Every month in England another magazine is going down which is such a pity. The small childrens ones are so expensive too.

Loving, loved that one along with Love Affair. Its a shame they couldn't stand the pace against the new ones. Yes I agree the small children's ones are so dear and you always get a free plastic tat gift with them every week. Bumps the price up and half the time the children only choose the comic because of the free gift. When we were young you only got a free gift once in a blue moon, and what a gift it was, still plastic tat but didn't you just get so excited about knowing it was coming the next week etc.

There is a Canadian women's magazine called Chatelaine that has been around for almost 80 years. it's changed a lot in the past 80 years, but it's just as good now, as it ever was.

I like it when mags and comics go on and on for ever as many generations can share the stories etc
