Today I received an email photo of Sarah Palin. She was armed with a rifle and wearing a stars and stripes bikini. http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/palin.asp take a look. I checked it. Have you ever done this?

I've used snopes and urbanlegends too. I get these emails from relatives and friends and they're all aghast at the photo or video. There was one of an alligator I remember was so falsified. I send them the links from snopes when I get the emails. I don't mind getting emails that are legitimate, but I wish they would check out what they are sending before forwarding you know?

Thank you for BR. I have three of those emails sitting in my inbox right now from my SIL.

That is TOO FUNNY! Just goes to show you that just about ANY picture or story can be fabricated to sway the views of people. It's always good, in my opinion, to check things out for yourself before forming an opinion. Some people just have too much time on their hands, don't they? Good thing that websites like snopes is around to put some rumors to rest -- and then, of course, also confirm the truth!

I thought it was funny too. When you look closely it looks like her head was too big. Wish there were more SNOPES like sites.

We use snopes a lot. I think it is funny someone took the time to do that,. If you look at the photos you can tell they are doctored because the sizes of the heads don't really match up.

No I have never used Snopes to check out a email although I should since I get so many saying I won this or that. I just delete them but maybe some day I will win and end up deleting it..So maybe I should bookmark Snopes just in case.

I sometimes check out snopes, but for the most part I do not believe the things like that I get in emails to begin with.

Yes. I have done this several times. I generally have a certain controlled level of mistrust for email stories. It is far to easy for hogwash to get circulated for one reason or another. Still, was a funny picture.
