Are You a Creative Writer Deep Within?!

Have you at times found yourself just wanting to write? Have you ever felt a sudden inspiration to put pen to paper? If so, what did you write about? I love to write myself and whether I am creative or not I don't know! But, I like to keep regular journals and I write generally about my feelings and thoughts. I guess by keeping journals this is a good way to help you analyze your life! Are you going through hell? What are your thoughts? Are you pleased with your life in general? What are your feelings? Have you had so much **** fall on your head that you slowly start tearing through the page with your pen? I guess the good thing about writing is, the more you write, the better you become! What are your thoughts about creative writing? Do you have any ideas about what makes a good piece of writing? I'm trying my hand at a piece of creative writing now on Triond! I'm hoping that they will agree to publish it! It's a piece of creative writing entitled "Why Am I Homeless"? I'm trying to imagine myself in that situation and what it would be like! Pure fiction. So, there you go, creative writing! What do you think? Andrew

Hi Andrew I am more of an instinctive writer who would write whenever and wherever she feels like and not just for the sake of writing. I believe, we need not be professional writers to express ourselves and the more we write the more we get better. Internet is doing an amazing job promoting small time writers like us and the words like PUBLISH, CP and WRITER are just intriguing. You just cannot but fall in love with it. I have been writing in AC, Triond and Helium. Triond is a good place to be in but I find AC to be more satisfying. I should like to read through your articles. would you mind sending me the links?

Hi, thank you for your response. Yes, it's definitely a good thing to practise writing on a regular basis. I really am hoping that I will eventually be published with a creative piece of writing! Anyway, here's the following link to a review that I wrote about the book "Once". Let me know what you think!!http://www.shvoong.com/books/mystery/1835830-/ Here is my other review that I wrote on a casino website: http://www.reviewstream.com/reviews/?p=45989 Again, I would love to know your thoughts! I do tend to do some creative writing but not as much as wanting to write articles. Everyday, I at least handwrite in my hournal where I have food journal and diary n the same book and it's a good way to practice writing on. I don't write negative stuff that could make me upset later on which is how i avoid getting angry. I might someday write some creative writing stuff. FOr now, I am more interested in making money since it's my only way to make money at home is by using the internet.

Thanks a lot. Maybe I will use them someday but for now, I don't want to publish any of them anywhere since it's personal. I just found out I had gain a few pounds and just know how I can lose them. I need to exercise more but it's somewhat harder when you have three kids with you. My oldest goes to school since the third and the second one will be in school on the 16th or the 18th. While my 8 month old will be with me most of the days in each week but for a few hours twice a week, I will be at school where I am going to combine it with writing. I am going to learn mandarin chinese. U'm fluent with writing but not speaking and reading chinese. Know any translators?

I write about my own life experiences and attitudes on my blog, and sometimes here at myLot, where I also like writing about my thoughts and opinions. When I'm not blogging or myLotting, I'm writing informational articles. These can be instructive or from a personal viewpoint. I have posted a few poems and articles at Triond, and I have more than 80 articles listed at Helium. Anyway I do write every day and I get a lot from it, in addition to the money I earn from it. I still write by hand in my diary at the end of the day, just a few brief notes on what I've been up to and how I am feeling.

It's a personal choice but I like Helium best because I am selling some of my articles in the Marketplace. I also get paid bonuses now I have some writing stars. Occasional writers to Helium still benefit, but how well you do depends on commitment and quality of writing. It's a competitive environment that requires active participation.

Hi, thanks for your response. That sounds really positive and it sounds as though things are really working out for you. I have just started a blog myself and I guess as regards writing on that blog, the topic will be about computer maintenance! That's definitely quite a lot of articles. As well as Triond, would you say that Helium is a good place to publish writing? Andrew

yeah. i always felt like writing but never thought i was that great. then all of the sudden, many people i know told my they liked my writing style and my writing was entertaining. so i decided to write my first novel. i wrote it, edited it, designed the covers, self published it on lulu.com, and now i am marketing it. The Sand Dollar by Fifi Leigh. since my ba is in social science, my novel has sociological content, and written in memoir form, but inspired by reality.

lulu.com is a free do-it-yourself self-publishing site. you do all the work, but lulu press just prints the book for you and distributes it. i think they get 20% of what you sell. they take anyone. it gives you the freedom and opportunity to do your book your way without a lame editor messing with your work. and if you have artistic skills, you can design your own cover. but there are also free covers you can use on lulu. i think it is perfect for first time writers because it gives you an opportunity to show others what you can do. show your copy around and market it since you dont have any name as a new writer.

Hi, thank you for your response. If you find people saying that they like your writing style then I guess you are off to a great start. That's good that you have actually published a novel. What is lulu.com about though? I think I will check that site out. Do they publish new writers? Andrew

HI Andrew, I write for Triond too and getting paid every month. I often write articles instead of fiction. Sometimes I write a piece about how I feel about certain things in my life. Most of the time, I just write straight forward articles. Hope your piece will be published. As long as it's original and has never been published before, the chances of your piece of writing to be published is quite high. You can search for me at Triond. Name there is the same at myLot. Keep on writing!

I have actually just checked out some of the articles that you have written on Triond and I have to say, you have quite a portfolio! I especially liked the article that you wrote regarding My Lot. Anyway, I guess it just shows what can be done. I'm going to try for publication as soon as I can, you certainly have inspired me to go one step further! Andrew

I think i am. I cannot imagine not writing - about anything that inspires me. But it is not my profession. It is more like a private passion. And pain usually goes along with it. To me writing is like rain. It just pours. Then my pod springs forth life. And oh, other than pain, rain also inspires me to write. And so do joy, and love. A good piece of writing, i believe, always comes from the heart. The editing is the work of the mind. You can do that later - after your "outpouring." Good luck with Triond.

Have you seen Finding Forrester? Starred by Sean Connery. That's where my lines about writing were inspired from.

Hi, thanks for your response. Yes you are definitely entering into the heart of creativity in your response! It sounds to me like you have hit the nail on the head! I have heard that before, how you should just write and let the words flow, see what comes out and then you can make adjustments later on. Love, joy, they are definitely powerful subjects to write about! I probably have no experience when it comes to love so I would have to invent something! Thanks all the same. Andrew

i guess i am and this is one of my poem, thoughts i wrote when i feel in love with a married man... Forbidden Love I can’t believe and imagine how things happened to us? And why God allow our both heart to fall inlove with each other? We knew that we’re doing a foolish mistake to build this intimate relationship! In the first place, i am aware of you being married with a half dozen of offspring. I keep asking myself too many times why im being blind to see the reality? And why im insensible to understand the truth? I remember the first day i meet you. I feel something unusual especially the first time i look into your eyes! I can’t explained why i feel that way! But now i realized why it come by chance, it is simply because, our heart was meant to beat as one! I tried myself to ruin this relationship…many, many, times, but until now it is growing deeper… And why???… The reason is… The more i run away from you, the more you hold me close to your heart! That is why the intimacy we have was getting more stronger everyday! I keep asking, until when we could have each other??? We knew that there is no such thing as "FOREVER" for us… Forbidden love, very distressing! Hence, once in my life i was "truly love"!!! Thank you!!!

Hi, thank you for your response. That's a nice poem. I guess it's good to write about your thoughts in this way. There is so much power attatched to love and writing about love is also very powerful. I lack experience in that area sadly . Still, I guess I concentrate my efforts on other areas!! Thanks again. Andrew

Hi Andrew, I was born with the desire to write. I've written and published stories and articles. Currently I'm putting together a short story collection to submit to the Iowa Awards. I also have two novels-in-progress. Tell me more about Triond. I've never heard of it. How does it work? Good luck with your writing endeavors. Never stop writing.

Hi, thanks for your response. It sounds to me like you are a fully fledged author! That's quite an achievement as regards the stories and articles. It sounds as though you could give me some invaluable advice on how to go about becoming a published writer. I am fairly new to Triond and I haven't published anything with them yet. I'm sure that others that have responded to this discussion could give you more valuable advice regarding Triond. From what I know though is, you write something, hopefully have it published by them, and I think you get paid for that, and you also receive royalties on your work, this relates to votes that you receive for your writing. What would you suggest to a newbie like myself who wants to tread the path of creative writing? Andrew

I get those feelings all the time. I now think that the best solution for my type of writing urge problem is a book or books detailing various experiences of mine and how I feel about them. Thats probably the best self-expression. Your own life experiences laid out along with your own opinions and views. You can even get poetic about it if you wish.

Hi, thanks for your response. I guess that sounds like a good idea! I have been writing journals for a very long time and I suppose that I could utilize some of the stuff in those! As regards poetry, I may fall flat on my face! Will I have the strength or determination to pick myself up!! I guess I will get to work on my first piece of creative writing and see if the editors like that!! Andrew

I've been into writing since I was younger. However, at 14 (back in late 2000) I had some sort of awakening, I can't really explain it. I didn't take writing seriously until more people started realizing that I had a knack for it. And sometimes I still don't believe it when others like my work. Either way, I do find it comforting when I write and I see it as being heavily therapeutic.

I absolutely agree with you there regarding writing having therapeutic qualities. When I have pen in hand, I just relax and the words slowly begin to flow like water out of a tap!! Also, if others like your work then I guess you really are on the right path!! Good luck with your writing. Andrew

I write at Triond too and it has helped me a lot to improve on my writing. At least I am writing something factual and real not only about my emotions as I do in my blogs. I also express my magic ideas there and what's great about it is that it has helped me a lot to gain better insight on myself.

I love writing. I know there is a creative writer deep inside me. My interest are also varied, so it gives me a chance to write on many topics. So far my writings were concenterated to my professional sphere. Recently i attempted to write and have my own blog where I can expess myself freely. I am here at mylot since about a week and have been a participating in the discussions actively. i feel while writing one should have a defnite idea as to what one is going to write. best way is to divide your thoughts into various categories, note them down as and when it occurs. Read those at free time, its here the ideas start to take birth. i am not a professional writer, so i dont now how they get their ideas.

Hi, thank you for your response. I guess I have the occasional "Writer's Block". I would love for the words to just flow and not have to think too much about things. I'm fairly new myself and only recently have I been creating discussions of my own! I like the way things are working out though. This is a very good place to be. Thanks. Andrew

I don't know if I'm a creative writer or not. I used to write poems and articles almost about anything if that interest me. Usually about my feelings and other things that suit my mood. I also write for the school paper way back in high school where I have earn the forensic award. I also get the Opinion/Sports Editor position later that year. I don't know if I'm creative or not but whatever type I am. I still write.
