I think I need an antidepressant

I have just had two very down days. Well to be honest all my "depressed" days stem from a lack of interest by the general public in anything I set my hand to. I just can't seem to keep a steady income no matter how small going from my art or crafts. It just gets a bit depressive to look at the counter on things and see it not move at all for days....meaning no activity whatsoever! I know I just joined redbubble but it is starting to remind me of my lack of success on webshots. I see everyone going gaga over other artists works and I can't get a single person to look at mine let alone call it a favorite or gosh forbid buy it. Thanks for letting me vent.

I don't think you sound like you have clinical depression. There are obviously many causes for your blues and it doesn't sound like they are with you every waking moment of the day, every time you wake up. Antidepressants are being prescribed everywhere and really too much. Everyone has hard times and you just need to deal with your life right now instead of just worrying a bout it. You need to fix your thinking and get more inspiration so you can get back on track.

I know I am not clinically depressed (was many years ago and know the difference). I am just severly down in the dumps from years of trying to make it on nothing cause instead of everything turning to gold when I touch it it turns to dirt and it is getting old. On the upside I did manage to sell another article.

Have you tried selling any of your arts and crafts on Ebay? I can understand how depressing it can get but hang in there and try to be as positive as you can. There is power in positive thinking!

I have given ebay tons of money and it has been a bust for over a year now. I can't seem to get out of this dry spell I have tried ebay, etsy, redbubble, my own website, craig's list.

I hear a lot of good stuff about Etsy, is that a venue that your art would go in? I think you just do not have enough traffic. Your pictures are very nice.

I was on anti-depressents for a while, because of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and they're not that bad, as long as you find some that don't have nasty side effects. We are all different, and we need to find ones that will work for us. The first one made me feel like crap, but the second one I went on, was just great. I took it for about a year, got off of it, and now I'm just fine. I still have SAD, but now I make it a point to get out of the house, and distract myself all winter.

I was on antidepresants many years ago (zoloft) but I really do not feel like i need to go back on meds it has just been a long 3 years of struggling and I finally let it get to me and was feeling overwhelmed. I am feeling mildly better now.

MyLot is therapy, do not let anyone tell you otherwise. You can talk about stuff and your friends will support you. If you truly need an anti depressant, then by all means see your doctor. If you are basically depressed, then talk to us, we talk back, and care for you, too.

Oh I'm going through the same thing with my crafts - I put so much time and work into them and feel like others think they are just garbage or something. I got really excited last week a lady ordered two of my glass bead bracelets and was mailing a check but it's still not here and I don't consider something sold until I have the money in my hands.... I have some new things to add to my site but have been so busy with other things I haven't done it yet - so why am I here on myLot instead of doing that? Because I too am depressed with the craft business and just have no motivation right now.... Well, now we both vented lets just let the crafts do their own thing for a bit and get busy writing. I am thinking at least for you things will be picking up shortly with the holidays and all. I wish I had more Christmas stuff in my line.
