Christmas shopping....when do you start?

I have a rather long list of people to buy gifts for, so I have already begun my Christmas shopping. I end up buying gifts for about 25 people each year, so I like to start in the early Fall. I know several people who cannot even think of doing holiday shopping until the stores are all decorated and full of holiday music. Some other people I know NEVER do any shopping until the 11th hour. Where do you fall? Are you one of those last minute shoppers, or are you more like me...preferring to get a jump on things?

Hi, cafn8me, I've noticed that, you, as well as me, would like to make some extra money. And I'm wirting here to probe into the possibility of our cooperation to make some extra money. As you said, you've already started your Christmas shopping, so is it possible that I bought some presents in China for you or your friends with Chinese characteristics, or anything you and your family or friends or other people you know would like to get in China? If there is a chance we can work together, please let me know at Email: chinaoften@gmail.com or MSN: willsmiles@163.com Look forward to your reply.

Like you, my wife and I also have to buy gifts for 20+ people. My wife enjoys the Christmas shopping to buy these gifts each year, but for me, it is not a very relaxing activity especially when it get closer to Christmas Day. Sometimes we can shops around but can't find what we want to buy, so we have to end up shopping even more. Most of our gifts are usually purchased in November or December. That's the time most shops are having Christmas sales. We do buy some of our gifts overseas during our year-end holidays. Well, this year we have started earlier, and as at now we have already purchased five of the presents. That will give us some relief when the year-end comes around so we don't have to run around that much to buy the remaining gifts.

Sorry for the poor English tenses...I typed too fast there and didn't check before posting. The 2nd and 3rd lines should read: "My wife enjoys the Christmas shopping to buy these gifts each year, but for me, it is not a very relaxing activity especially when it gets closer to Christmas Day. Sometimes we can shop around but can't find what we want to buy, so we have to end up shopping even more."

I will usualy start around the last week or so of september. I like to get an early start so I can get all ym shopping out of the way before the hoards of people hit the stores. Also I can save money by not spending so much money at one time.

Normally i shop on the month of december but since this year i know there is a whole list of people i need to give a gift i plan of buying there gifts as early as november. I usually dont make a list but this year i will start doing a list of things that ill be giving to my parents and my relatives. When it comes to decoration i might probably buy decoration as early as october. In that way i wouldnt have to rush buying a gift and decorate the house at the same time. I think that would be easier for me than buying all those stuff on the same month.

It's always great to go for shopping, and when it's christmas, it's a day which comes only once in a year. Well i start my shopping for christmas in december only, as i dont have much time..

I usually start doing my Christmas shopping in October, and buy things as I see them and can afford them up until the second week or so in December. If I see something earlier in the year that I think someone would like as a gift, then I'll buy it and put it away for them, or save it if it's online. That said, I have had a couple of years where I've realised I've forgotten someone, and had to go and buy something on Christmas Eve!

I do my shopping year round. I start in January buying all my wrapping paper at the 90% off sales. I also buy plain colored paper to use throughout the year for wrapping birthday and other gifts. I also make a lot of my gifts and will buy materials and make them through the year. This year my BF is going to get a quilt for his bed. My sister wants a crocheted cat that I showed her the pattern for. I also make teddy bears (that's my business) so special people get artist teddy bears. My two mini Dachshunds will be getting fleece coats (Plus I am making them to sell at Christmas Craft shows.)and the cats are getting new beds. I hate crowds, so I don't get into the after Thanksgiving and the day before Christmas melees! I usually have everything done and wrapped and under the tree around December 10th. Then I might venture out to find bargains for goodies for me. This year I promised me a "ME" shopping spree where I will buy myself a bunch of new clothes, accessories and other goodies. I have had a tough year and I deserve a "ME" shopping spree.

Every year I TRY to start after Thanksgiving. Every year, it's the same thing...I find something better or the thing I bought goes on sale for cheaper, or my kid's christmas list changes. I really don't know when to start. Especially this year, with budget cuts and all we'll be lucky to have presents under our tree at all.

I'm usually start in November, "black Friday" to be more specific. I'm making most people throw blankets this year, so I'm starting in October. By the time November comes around the only thing I have to buy is a bunch of video games, and a ipod for my nephew. I'll also buy all my mothers gifts in November too. That's it. I'm always done before December. Put them away in a closet and Lock the door.

I gather things all year long and keep them in a gift closet. If I find a good deal I know my child will like it saves on the shopping in the long run.

Oh no! I have a husband whose birthday comes up in October, and two sons whose birthdays are in November, so I have to buy for them before I do any Christmas shopping and now I have six people to get presents for and if we get visits from relatives there will be more. I usually allow $50 each person, and that will be quite hard since I have to spend at least $450.00 this year. I will have to start looking for bargains.

i start immediately after christmas. here in canada we have boxing day and a lot of the stores are open and most stores have amazing deals, so i do start buying then and then throughout the rest of the year, i keep my eyes open for sales. this year, i am making scrapbooks for 4 of my nieces (3 down, 1 to go) and collages for an aunt and my 2 daughters, so i am pretty busy (but i have about half my shopping done already!)
