I attend a Pentacostal Holy church. I go to church 2 times on sundays, and 1 time on Wednesday I am just curious as to others faiths and what they believe in. We believe in speaking in tounges, and God using people to give mesages. Does anyone else believe in this, or disbelieve in it.? I would like all input.

I know God well enough to not say that I don't believe in this. God works with different people in different ways. However I don't believe it is supposed to be done as it is in many churches. God personally teaches us through the Holy Ghost so we can use the information in our own lives but He also expects us to share that information freely with others. As for God giving one person a message for another person I don't believe in this. Now I am talking about mature Christians.I say this for this reason. If God can give me a message for you then He could just as easily give it directly to you, if, you have received the holy Ghost where God can reach you. Even if God gives me information directly the very most I can ever offer anyone else is second hand information. With the Holy Ghost in effect we are supposed to be helping new Christians reach a point where God can Anoint them with the Holy Ghost. Our teaching duties end there and God can then take over the teaching of that person. The duty of any church is to bring new Christians into the church and then teach them how to receive the Holy Ghost. If we can do that then we have done our job well. This isn't happening in most churches for the simple reason their Christian teaching system isn't teaching this correctly or in some cases not at all.

PS; Let me clear something up. When God personally teaches us through the Holy Ghost this is a form of giving us a message for another person. As I said in the post above we are supposed to pass this information on to others. Our teaching duty to get people to a point where God can Anoint them is supposed to be happening in our homes with our own children. In the churches and in our homes we are supposed to be teaching the other children the same thing. These are children that don't have parents that can teach them.

^_^ yes i believe on it.. it is biblical.. but it is temporary and affirmative message from God.. just like the Apostles in Acts.. they speak in tounges temporarily just on that day to affirm that the message is really from God... and it is a gift from God.. not human teach it to a human.. Paul said.. i rather said 5 words rather than speaking in tounges..

I was confused after reading your last sentence about Paul because I have actually read the opposite (Still trying to find the verse). I found what you were speaking of in 1 Corinthians 14:18-19, I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. Paul is speaking about the gifts of prophecy and tongues. Paul is simply saying that he would rather use words to edify the church than tongues that would edify himself. (1 Corinthians 14:4)
