I think you should encourage your children in what they do, and give them advice and support. However, children sometimes are fickle-minded, and they like to change their minds at the slightest thing. So, becareful with what they choose or they mind end up doing something completely different.

That's the best thing you could do for your kids, let them decide or choose for their life. Support them all the way in whatever they do and want to be, but of course your guidance will always be there. God Bless!

No, I didn't encourage my daughter to follow my profession but i suggested it to her when she was asking what course she will take up. In the end she decided on her own course which is chemical engineering. However when her friends shifted to nursing, she went along with them. Again, that was her own decision and I supported her also in this decision. Of course i want her to take up law just like me but i only suggest it to her now that she is trying to decide whether to take up another course. Medicine is also another of my suggestiions but I leave the decision to her what to do.

No, I don't! On the other hand I am encouraging him to pursue his own inclination. My son loves mass communication and so I supported him all the way. That is not the profession I desire for him but I can't discourage him for I know he that is what he really wants to pursue. And I see how I he gets satisfaction with his course and how he performed so well. Of course there is no problem to encourage a child to follow your profession but if the child has a different inclination, a parent should give his child the chance to pursue what he likes.

It depends on the desire of my kids,if they willing and they like to be. Then i will try to follow my profession but still i will check out and analyse their basic interest and their skill set . based on that i too will suggest them which will fit for them... but desire is there...definetely i will teach them what is money, job and happiness in life

I think children should be able to choose what profession they want to follow. In the past it was the done thing to follow your parents profession, and sometimes you had to either if you didn't want to as that was only the job open to you.. ie factory work, coal mine, steel works etc.

NO! I think a kid should be able to fine there on profession something they like. Why should a child hve to follow in you foot steps they should make foot steps of there own. I believe a child would be happy with there own profession and not your.
