I am a fan of a novelist called Chetan Bhagat, and have read all 3 of his novels. He writes in such an amazing way that I used to read his novels late till night, about 2 A.M. I was truly a fan of his books and just loved reading them. I read his books while eating, while myLotting (The loading times are very long), even before sleep and after wake up. All his 3 novels, namely, Five Point Someone, One Night @ The Call Center and The 3 Mistakes of My Life have been read by me with addiction. I was so insane in this reading thing that I was reading his books even till 2 A.M. Do you also read your books, especially your favorites late till night? How long have you been reading them? Can you break my record? Waitin' for your responses... AJ Rox.

Hi Ajrox, I usually read until I am too tired to go on. On weekdays, I try to sleep by 12 or 1am, as I need to get up early for work. However, during weekends, I can read as late (or early) as 3-4 am. I've been reading Ed McBain and his detective stories; and sometimes it gets very exciting - I would force my eyes to open in order to get to the end.

I am not a late night reader, but a late night surfer. My surfing very often goes up to 2 a. m. or a little more. Now I read very few books of my choice and some are in my local language 'Oriya'. Most of the reading time is planned at day time only. Thanks for this nice posting!

I read a lot. I think at the age of eleven I have read more than 50 books(novels or pocket books). I love the stories of Hans Christian Andersen, I've read all his stories. I like the "Harry Potter series;" I also like the stories written by the Grimm brothers and the story of "The Swiss Family Robinson", "The Davinci Code", "Angels and Demons" and a lot, lot more. I've also read a lot of inspirational books, and I liked everything! I usually read 'til 5 A.M. Now you can't beat that.

If a book is great I can't stop reading it. I had those days when I stayed late at night to read a book or to finidh it out but lately i don't have time for it. I think the most spectacular example was volume one of "Harry Potter" series. It was that time when the first adaptation was in the cinema I was to watch it with my friend. But hadn't read the book itself before it was in the cinema so day before around 6 p.m. my friend borrowed me the first part. I started to read it in the bus and I stopped an 4 a.m. in my bed. Somehow I could stop reading it until it was finished. I was like 16 then, I guess.

I've been reading the autobiography of Regis Philbin (yeah - laugh - but I like biographies of real and likeable people). It's over 10 years old, so when he makes reference to current events in the book, I have to remember that. But, I'm enjoying it, his stories about entertainers who have passed in the interim, little known stories about them interacting with him, things about his children I never knew (like I didn't know he was married twice or that he had a son who was born with a serious birth defect). Kelly Ripa wasn't even in the picture when the book was written, yet I'm still enjoying it. I read it in bed before I go to sleep, as well as off and on during the day. My reading choices tend to be rather eclectic. I've read a couple of political books, a novel, as well as in the past several mystery series involving cats and one involving a lady sheriff in Cochise County, Arizona (where I lived for a couple of years). I even recently read a book about the possible connection between druidism, the Knights Templar, the Holy Grail and ancient Egyptian religion. That one was a difficult read - and I'm not sure I totally understand it - but it was also interesting reading the theory of the interconnections. I just don't think they proved their case entirely in the book, except maybe to other religious scholars.

Autobiographies are nothing to laugh that, but I would love to read them since we get to learn a lot of thoughts and morals from other people's experiences. I read the biography of Jim Corbett (A hunter turned environmentalist) who explained the beauties of wildlife to me. I would love to read more of them. Thanks for your response.

i'm different from you. I don't like to read novels, if the nevels are become TV, i would rather watch TV. when i was a student, i always read books until deep night, but the books were not nevels. now, i was agrduated, i never read boods, i play on computer every night till 23.30. i know it's a bad habit, i will try to give up this habit.

I do read late till night. But I don't read novels. What I read are ebooks. All related about computers. Like programming and computer technologies. I invest a lot of time reading and understanding whats written on these books/e-books and I even sometimes reading it till dawn to morning. Ruining my sleeping pattern and causing a lot of problems.

I also love reading tech magazines but I just can't concentrate on them late in the night. You better not ruin your sleep pattern much, otherwise it will become habitual.

I read a lot. once i started reading at 5pm and it went on till 3.30am. the book was pretty interesting and did not want to keep it down for a moment. reading is something which everyone should cultivate. read different authors, different topics. reading enables us to know what changes are occuring in the world around us. how the world is changing and where we are heading to. i have not read chetan bhagat. i have a few of his books in my collection. soon i will be reading it. from the prevews about chetan bhagat, i feel he is not my kind of author whose ideas can invoke some interest in me.

Ya....i am also badly addicted to Chetan Bhagat's writing.I finished "The 3 mistakes of my life" at around 4am in the morning, reading the whole night. Its not about sleep or sleeplessness. It about interest in the content that you are reading.Sleep gets automatically dissappeared when you read Chetan Bhagat.....

I have been reading non-fiction lately. This week I decided I wanted to read fiction. I started a book by Catherine Coulter. I have been up until 2 and 3am reading. I got hooked from the first chapter. I had intended to read one chapter before going to sleep and found myself reading five. It makes it very hard to get up in the morning. I also read while I am waiting for pages to load on the computer. I am a multi-tasker and don't like to waste time. And I DO love to read and wish I had more time for it.

I am also a multi-tasker like you, and read late till night. Though I am more inclined towards fiction, but I would really like to read non-fiction book and get to know the real beauty of literature, which is well delivered by non-fiction. Thanks for your response. You have been marked the best response.

Hi there! I do read books at night. I don't have any favorite novelist and I read anything that interests me. I don't usually track my time when I read. I just continue reading until I fall asleep. Reading besides listening to soft music is my way to fall asleep. Ciao!
