Do you take out food you have not consumed when you dine out?

Left over foods - Some of our left overs. We asked the waiter to wrap it up and we bring it home. WE just re heat it and eat it again,, the taste is still the same.

We love dinning out. My husband loves to eat outside in the restaurant. Sometimes we consume all the food, most of the times, the serving is large and we cannot consume all. In times like this, we ask the waiter or waitress to wrap it up for us and we just bring it home. We re heat it at home and eat again. How about you? Do you take home the food you did not finished in restaurants?

Yes, purposely. I mean, I can't afford to eat out very often so when we don, I make it worth my dollar! I will order steak, baked potatoe and salad. Often comes wtih bread. I eat the salad and bread, then start on the steak but as I get full, I stop and bring the rest of the steak nad the baked potato home. Those can be reheated just fine! 2 meals for the price of one and I don't have to cook the next day! Oh, yeah, I will toss in there any of the bread that we didn't eat!

Nope, because i'm a big eater or maybe the portions are often too little, that i will surely be able to finish it all in the restaurant ^_^ UNless, there are too much good food and we ordered a little too much, we will at most leave it unfinished, but not too much too and we will never ask for takeaway, as the taste of the food will be different, and it won't taste as good as eating in the restaurant ^_^ hehe

Well, it is a good idea to pack the leftovers and take them home. After all, you have paid for the food. A bit boring to eat the same stuff again, but why waste it after you paid for it. We did this only once. Usually, we manage to consume everything when we go to a hotel. But that day, my uncle had visited, and maybe we ordered too much. Anyway, a lot of it was left over, and we asked them to pack it for us. :) Cheers and happy mylotting

Yes, we also bring home our food that we haven't finished. Sometimes the portions are just so big that it's too much to eat all at once. I always just feel like I'll be wasting the food if I just leave it there for them to throw away. I figure we might as well get all of the food we paid for, and then it can be eaten for lunch the next day!

so true, we pay for it and so we must consume it, if not at that moment, maybe at lunch tomorrow.

Yes, we do this always whenever we dine out and have a remnant of our food. Sometimes, we will take it on our home and eat it later, there are times as well, that if we happen to see or pass street children, we will just give it to them.

I do not know what others do but I use to get the balance food packed and I take it with me at home. If it can be preserved for the next day we do it if can not I use to give to the needy person who is in hunger.

Yup, we sometimes do that, especially if it's delicious. We can only do this at the restaurants; if we are dining in the hotels, they usually do not allow us to pack the remaining food.

I do that sometimes. There are some times that I ordered too many kind of food without actually know how big the portion is. And especially when the food is kind of expensive, I would surely get some home, so I can reheat it and eat the leftovers.

yeah we take them home too, i don't see any reason why we shouldn't. our family is very particular about not being wasteful with anything. to be honest, i get pretty irked when i see people just get up and leave everything to be thrown out, i mean at least you can have it wrapped up and given to people who need food....

Well if it is food that is easy to keep like cake or something similar, then I will bring it back home. Perhaps for myself to eat the next day. Or I might bring it back for someone else to try back home. Other than that, I rarely take food home from the restaurants I eat at. I try to order portions suitable for my appetite so there's less wastage.

it's hard to know the right proportions of food here in my country, most often than not, we always have unconsumed portion for take aways.

The servers at the restaurants we go to always ask us if they can pack the food up when we cannot finish it all. We usually say yes, and if they do not ask, we ask if they will put it in a box and they always do that. They only time we do not is if the food is too little it is not worth it, or if we are not in the city and on holiday and it would not look right to eat in the motel unless it is a pie or something that is not messy.

Yup! We do take home foods from restaurants when there's still a lot. But usually we have no left overs haha. We have a big family so whenever we dine out we consume everything and if one can't finish his or her meal, the others can eat it. We also make it a point to eat everything we order when we eat outside. Dining out is more expensive nowadays and left overs in restaurants should be avoided I think. So we try to order what we know is just enough for everybody. Ciao!

Yes, I do loved to dine out in the Restaurant and most of the time with my family and if we have an order in which it is not eaten or not yet done then most of the time we always ask to take it out so that there will be food in the following day to make it hot for snack time most of it......

It's my practice to take it home the foods that have not consumed in the restaurant. My reason is,i have paid the food and i can eat that food in my home. other restaurant they just put it a container of left over foods of the customers and i'm thinking that they just put it on the garbage.

It is not my habit to take out food that i did not consume. Besides that if i eat i will not order too much that i cant eat everything i had in the table. I will just order enough for myself or the people that will dine so that the food and money will not be wasted. Its hard nowadays so its not good for the food to be wasted lol. Happy posting!
