Do you agree that stray dogs should be picked up from the streets and disposed of humanely? There are certain dog shelters which do not agree with killing of stray dogs. The local RSPCA does dispose of dogs in a humane manner when the dogs fail to get adopted. RSPCA does this because otherwise the number of dogs at their premises would be too great to handle. Do you agree that stray dogs should be humanely disposed of?

it ultimately comes down to two options... 1. Euthanize the ones that won't get adopted to make room for incoming strays 2. Keep all animals until they die naturally, but refuse to accept additional incoming strays and leave them on the street. I still struggle with this topic. Both seem inhumane, but one has to be chosen. It is difficult to argue against option 1 unless you are personally willing to foster an indefinite number of strays personally.

It depends on the dog. If the dog is very sick/inujured, yes, humanly euthanize it. If it is aggressive, euthanize it. If it's only "fault" is that it's a stray dog, no, I don't believe it should be euthanized just because it was a stray. Sadly, many wonderful dogs are put to sleep simply because the shelters have run out of room and their adoption rates are going down.

I think it would be better if more effort was put into reducing the number of unwanted dogs in the world. People should be held responsible for their dogs. They should not be allowed to just abadon them. Better methods for keeping track of who owns dogs should be employed and people should be encouraged to neuter their dogs if they do not want to breed them. I realize that all this would be expensive but sheltering and then "disposing" of dogs is also expensive.

I agree with your reasoning. Education should be the first step to reduce the number of unwanted dogs

no! it's definitely wrong to kill stray dogs. i find it so harsh and brutal. dogs shouldn't be treated that way. like humans they feel pain and it is wrong to kill them so i agree that they should just be placed in animal shelters.

dogs are still living things that god has created and for that, they have the right to live just like any human being.

No I would rather see a dog running loose on the streets and risk getting eaten by a wild animal or getting hit by a car then see it have no chance at life at all by being killed in an animal shelter. That is just sad to me. We have stray cats running all over our neighborhood I'd rather that then them be put to sleep.
