Harry Potter Error !!!!!

I want to draw your attention towards a possible error in the novel Harry Potter by author J K Rowling.
If you remember in the fifth book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter at the start of the new school year discovers that he can see some creatures called Thestrals which his friends Ron and Hermione cannot see.
Now, the reason given in the novel for Harry being able to see these creatures Thestrals is that he has seen death ( the death of Cedric Diggory in the previous year) and Thestrals can only be seen by people who have seen death.
You see my point here is that "Hadn't Harry already seen death when his parents were murdered infront of him the night Voldemort lost his powers????"
What do you folks think of this theory???

I think J.K. Rowling already answered this question in one of her interview... she said that Harry did not see his parents die... because his mother put him on the cradle... and the only thing he saw was that green light which emanated when the avada kedavra curse was used...

I must say that this is a very valid point. Even I wondered about this for some time but than just thought it was a plot hole. There are various plot holes you can find in all the Harry Potter books.

Since he was a baby at the time he probably did not see it, even if he was turned towards his mother. Babies field of vision is very limited to just what's right in front of them. Doubtful he really saw what was going on. Or he was somewhat shielded by his mother who saved him by sacrificing herself.
His father was not killed in front of him, only his mother.
