Hi! I'm planning for a trip to beach with my dear next year. Anyone had been to beach in Malaysia? Can anyone give me some good idea? We're planning to go to either Lang Tengah or Pulau Redang, anyone with good idea which hotel is better? Should we go for package or explore it by ourselves?

I have been to Malaysia and I really enjoyed it there. It has white sandy beaches and gently waving palm trees. The weather is warm all year round. I went to Penang and then visited KL after that I got a train to JB and then a bus to Mersing. From there I got a ferry to Tiomam Island. That it where I found lovely palm fringed beaches. I have heard that Palau Redang is lovely. Good luck deciding where to go in beautiful and friendly Malaysia.

Thank you for been in Malaysia. I'm happy you enjoy your stay in Malaysia. I've never been to Tioman Island myself, just at Mersing only.

I haven't actually been to Malaysia but my colleague has been twice now and absolutely loves it there! I am always a fan of exploring by myself rather than taking a part in arranged packages because the packages always seem to focus more on the touristic pursuits rather than allow you to see the REAL parts of a country. But sometimes it can also be a safe bet to combine both.

I'm from Malaysia and to be exact, my hometown is Terengganu, where Lang Tengah and Pulau Redang are. However I stay in Kuala Lumpur and have no experience to Lang Tengah. However there are accommodation at the island itself. I have been to Pulau Redang long long time ago, when I was in primary school. My suggestion is to get the pre-booking accommodation at the island because the boat to and fro the island and main land is limited. So if you get the accommodation at the island itself, you have more time there. Welcome to Malaysia.
