What can you about Federer's success in this years US Open? Is this a will determined success or just a product of a mere desperation to capture a Grand Slam for the year?

I think loss of Rafael Nadal is definitely reason of Federer's win this year at the US Open....

I think that it was a fallout of a bad day for Raphael Nadal in the semi-finals. Had Nadal been in the finals against Federer then it would have been a very different ballgame.

I think so, Nadal was already very exhausted in the series of tournaments which he played for and in fact that was already his best performance being in a semi final. Federer is just lucky I think.
