The Neti Pot, health helper or weird contraption?

I saw this segment of Oprah where they were promoting the use of a Neti Pot. Apparently you use it to pour saltwater through your nose to promote health. Anyone have any opinions?

I have heard Netipot, which is widely available in Wal-Mart, etc, is very good in curing flu.
However, I have personally not tried it before.
