If want to get a feel of how many people let the little things in life get next to them. I used to be one of them, probably still am, just a little, but I have learned that there are bigger fish to fry, and stopped sweating the small stuff. What about you, are you one who lets the little things get under your hair, or do you brush it off and carry on?

I know life is too short to sweat about the minor aggravations and stresses in our lives, but I do let them niggle at me, the worst thing is people for me! You know I might start off the day happy and then someone makes a comment at me, a slight or a nasty remark and I will dwell on it for the rest of the day, and my good mood is thrown out of the window, try as I might but I just cannot get rid of what that person has said to me, mind you it doesn't help that I soak up negativity like a sponge. One day I will learn just to shrug it off but I do get irritated easily by people.

My husband always tell me to not let other people steal my joy. But I am like you, the least negative comment made to me is carried with me all day, if it happens at night, i go to bed with a chip on my shoulder and sometimes even wake up the same. I know sometimes, you should let it go, but not all people handle situations the same. Thanks for responding

Yes, I am sorry to say that I have always been one to sweat the small stuff. I guess that is why I have high blood pressure. I am 56 years ,divorced, and now live alone. I have been disabled for over 22 years. It seems things are getting harder and harder, and I really hate making all of the dicissions all of the time.I really do worry about things alot.

Sorry to hear about you having a disability. I used to be a severe worrier, but I have finally realized that there are somethings worrying about will not change.

Sometimes,I just can't help it but then most of the time, I realize too not to "sweat them". I noticed that there are situations where some of us are driven up the wall that we really end up sweating the small stuff...

That's true, save the sweating for something big and worthwhile

I never let the small problems get to me, I always keep an eye on the big picture. It's like sailing in the sea, you keep you boat going in the right direction, you will eventually reach your destination, if you get bothered by every wave that hits you you'll be swimming with the fishes and get eaten by sharks. Happy living, happy mylotting.

I would have to say that I once was an individual that would let the small things get to me. Last Nov I was diagnosed with Lupus and I'm only 21; at the time i was 20. That's when I begin to stop sweating the small things. I realized that there are much more impt things in life like my LIFE and well being. Stress plays a major role in flare up also so thats where I drew the line. I must say that now life has really been much more of a breeze. I sweat the small things every now and then (I think we all do) but when I catch myself doing so I stop and think then throw those things out of the window. BACK ON TRACK!!!!

great response. Sorry about your diagnosis, but you seem to know how to handle your situation. Like you said, we all fall short and sometimes make a mountain out of a mole hill, but if we prioritize what is more important, the small things should just pass us by. Please take care of yourself, and God bless you.
