I had spent a week being alone at home and got nothing to do. Until I decided to check ebay. I bought almost 15 items. I already received 6 items and 3 of it were not the one I expected to be. It was not the one like what it was described by the seller. There was this seller I tried to contact to ask for a refund and to send the item back to her but NO reply from her. Now, I got discouraged and decided not to shop or buy at Ebay. Have you encountered things like that? What do you usually do?

Hi jstmarfz. I'm sorry to hear that. I myself do not use EBAY but my mother does alot and has never really complained. She has actually been quite pleased with the results she has recieved and she has actually saved alot of money too. I know one thing, she talks about being able to view some comments from other users about people on there that are selling things. I am not sure if there are comments for everyone but, their is some kind of way you can see if the person you are buying from has been good in there transactions from past purchases, and sales. Maybe you could check into that if you dont decide to give up on Ebay. It is such a shame that there are people out there that pull these scams. These are such @ssholes that all they care about is making a couple extra bucks regardless of how it affects others.I bet they wouldnt want it to happen to them! Maybe there should be a site that can check peoples goods out before they let them post it for sale.I think that would help. I hope at least the other items that you are expecting are what you want and expect.

Yes, I do check the feedback of the sellers. They are most positive feedback so I didn't worry that much, my hubby warned me already though I didn't listen. I thought it would be better coz they're cheaper and He doesn't like going in the mall. I am still expecting 3-4 items to received and I am hoping that I wont get disappointed again. This will be the last time I am going to buy at Ebay. Thanks for the reply!

I am sorry to hear your about your problem with eBay. Just like anything else in the world, there are always two side of things, the good and the bad. So, there are bad people on eBay as well. I have used eBay for quite sometimes now and so far I have encountered only one problem and it has been resolved. My problem was that the bidder who won the bid did not make any payment to the item that he or she had won. After trying contacted the winner several times, I decided to contact eBay. I used the live chat function as it was fast and you get to chat with a real person. The support person asked me to lodge a complaint against that winner and after going through the process, the winner had a strike in his or her account for non payment issue. Soon after that, the person contacted to apologize and make the payment. I then removed the strike in his account. So I suggest that you contact eBay so that actions can be taken against those bad people that are there just to ruin things for others. Those people can be blacklisted on eBay. That's why before dealing with anyone, check on his or her reputation based on the eBay's feedback system. From there you could see whether there is any bad feedback against that seller or not. Hope you would take the time to contact eBay and help others from falling prey to those bad people. Have a nice day!

I didn't know about that. But that's a good idea. The problem is, I am using my husband's Ebay account and not my personal account. My husband encountered a problem with the buyer too. He bought my Nokia N93i phone for 600$ and he let my husband waited for more than a week. He paid it, but after he received the item he complained about something nonsense. He was complaining it was a used phone which on description it was and how long! He asked for a refund and returned the item. Despite of his attitude my husband gave him a positive response but he didn't give feedback to my husband.

Hi! I tried the live chat yesterday and you are right they're very helpful to me. The problem was, I sent my complains to ebay trust at safety and they advised me to call the seller and talk. But this one seller I keep sending message and ask for a refund really refused to do so. So, I am planning to just give her a negative feedback which I know will really affect to her as a seller and buyer

I suggest you use the live chat provided by eBay so that you can present your problem to the support person. I have contacted them twice via live chat and was satisfied on both times. They are quite knowledgeable and very helpful. All the best!

well coz of boredom i spent time looking and buying at ebay. I talked to the admin regarding my complains but they advised me to call the seller on the phone which I don't want to do that. It just so frustrating.

Don't get me started on Ebay. That place has become such a difficult place to find what you want that I forget it. It is just crazy. I have seen both sides of the game. It is full of thieves. There are many good sellers and several great buyers; but it has so many of the bad guys that it's just not worth the risk to gettin ripped off.

I think Ebay can be great but you really do have to watch out! That bargain is not always what you bargained for. I myself use Ebay to buy and sell a few bits and pieces but nothing huge. I work as a gardener and my boss used to use Ebay (UK) to get some of the tools. We had do stop after receiving multiple faulty and expensive tools! We also bought some cheap tools which were also shoddy and even though cheap not as described by the seller or actually capable of doing the job they were designed for. My advice is only ever go with sellers who's rating is at least 98% positive and NEVER buy from someone who hides their ratings. The same goes for buyers really as some of them will try and rip you off too. If it looks to good to be true; It probably is.

Yeah, I have decided to have enough with Ebay. I spent almost 200$ for 15 items and so far 3 items were the item I am satisfied. Its better to buy directly to the said brand I wanted to buy that going at Ebay. Not all sellers there are true to what they sell.

That's a really bad thing to happen on eBay, most of the time it isn't like that. I have bought lots of things from there, and rarely have a problem. If you paid by Paypal, then you will be covered by them, and can get your money back that way. You will have to raise an 'Item not as Described' which can be done through My eBay. The seller will have the chance to respond to the dispute, and you will have to send the item back via a trackable means. I don't see any reason why Paypal wouldn't refund your money.

Well I am a seller and a buyer, I suggest paying with paypal and when you don't receive an item you contact them stating you did not receive the item, they will put in a dispute and resolve the situation I paid over 40.00 for some items I never received and was refunded 100%

Hi there jstmarfz! It's sad that there are people who take advantage of us especially at Ebay. The fact that they know how interesting their items are and that people are willing to spend a considerable amount of money just to buy these stuffs make them excited to see people bidding on their things. I am so sorry to hear about your Ebay experience. I sell some stuffs on Ebay and inasmuch as I do not want to be scammed, I am very careful in dealing with both sellers and prospective buyers. I have never experienced anything bad and I hope I will never...

hi jstmarfz hi what I dislike about ebay is that you pay so much more for shipping than for the item you bought, if the shipping was not so high I would stick with them but I dislike being charged an enormous amount when ibought a sale item for say five dollars.not fair at all. will not do any more business with them at all.

Yeah, that what seller do. That's why if the shipping cost is more expensive than the cost of item. I disregard it. Its not worth it.

Waiting for the item is not a problem. The problem is, you paid the right amount for the item in the right time. You were expecting that the item their selling is the item they're describing. But when I received it, I was disappointed coz it wasn't the one described in the auction.
