This might not be the topic to discuss this but I don't have one on weather so will start here. Hurricane Ike came through Ohio on Sunday, it caused quite a panic. We had winds of 79 miles per hour, which made it a catagory 1 storm. Now you ever heard of a hurricane in Ohio, away from the Gulf or the Atlantic. Our news said it was a once in a life time thing, thank god we don't need anymore. I am from Louisiana and I have seen these storms, we had quite a bit of damage here. I have one of the big trees laying in my yard, and we was without power from noon on Sunday to tonight at aroung 10:30. While I lost a lot of the stuff out of the refrigerator, and there was a million people out of power. It gave the people here a chance to see what we go through down there. I left La after Katrina, and all though we did not have to evacuate it was still an experience I would of rather done without. Do you know how long the hours are between dark and daylight when you don't have power and trying to live with candles to see. We have a cat and he was determined to see what that flame was, believe me the time goes slowwwwwwwwww. It is over now and we have power again, and I praised God when it came on, just before I lost the rest of the stuff in the freezer. And the people across the street still have no power but they are working on it and hopefully they will have it by morning. So now Ohio has something else to talk about a Hurricane In Ohio, a 1000 miles away from the Gulf, weather sure is a funny thing.

The weather is a wonderful thing. The forecasters have the most powerful computers in the world to do their weather modelling on and most of the time they are pretty good. But for all that power and knowlege, they still get it very wrong if they try to predict more than about 10 days ahead. The reason? Well it is simple. The weather is unpredictable, always was and always will be. So no problems with 'past sell by date' stuff in your fridge/freezer then? That is one good thing about having to chuck the lot! haha
