The British Prime Minister is proposing we should have a Great Britain Day, as there is no national day for all of Britain. The Welsh celebrate Saint David's Day, the Scottish have Saint Andrew's Day and the English Saint George's Day. Everyone celebrates Saint Patrick's Day with the Irish, but none of these are public holidays. I hope you have a lovely time celebrating China's National Day.

The national day of china is normally will be lasted for one week. maybe for chinese it is a little different from the people from other countries on how to spend the relatively long holiday. in china, we call it as "gold week". that means it is an enjoyable period for all chinese to consumption, especially to tour in different place inland or abroad. also it is a good opportunity for the restaurants, hotels, beauty spots and transportation companies to make money. otherwise, some celebration programs is just to be concerned by the goverment but have nothing to do with us. almost nobody will stay home in front of the TV to watch such ceremonies. we all have been thousands miles away. hahaha

happy your national day in advance in my place, we just celebrated our independence day. it was on august 17th. due to our macro-economical situation, we celebrated it very simply. in my village, we celebrated it by arranging a simple gathering in the night before the d-day. there is some performances by the children and adults: dancing traditional dances, singing national anthem, etc. there are also some veteran sharing their experience when involved in our struggle for our liberation. so, what about you. how do you usually celebrate your national day?

Well; we have 3 such days ; which are also National Holidays . First and probably most important of these 3 is : "Republic Day" - on 26 th January each Year . It celebrates India's becoming of a Republic in the year 1950 . Second is "Independence Day" (or "Swatantrata Diwas " ) on 15th August . On 15th August 1947 ; India gained independence from around 190 years of British Rule and Dominance over India . Third is 2nd October (Yes; Yesterday was a National Holiday ) which is the birth date of Late Mahatama Gandhi . Also known as the father of the Nation ; his Methods of Non-Violence , Non-Co-operation , Civil Disobedience (also called Satyagraha ) has made him a world Figure . This day has now also been announced by United Nations as the "World Peace Day " . This is also a National Day and a National Holiday ;when Schools, Colleges and Offices remain closed for the whole day . Even most of the markets also remain closed .
