My husband wants to take our son to watch a soccer game this evening. I am invited to join them but I'm opting for a hot, soaking bubble bath and a good book. My muscles are aching http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1705091.aspx and I can't think of anything more delicious right now. Have you received a nice surprise from anyone today? How long has it been? Hubby is winning big points for this one!! Haha

Congratulations on your wonderful evening of 'soaking and reading,' makingpots. I'm sure it's well deserved. I've received some very nice surprises, from various sources over the years. However, these days, it seems like the surprises I'm receiving are 'not so nice.' In fact, I received one of those types just today. I think I'm overdo for something good to happen, and if it's a surprise so much the better. Take care.

My husband is working in Arizona right now, and I am in Ontario, so till he gets here next month, I have every night to myself. a nice surprise will be if he wins the lottery, or I do, and he can leave AZ before October! LOL I do know what you mean, though. It's nice when you're stressed and aching to do what you need to do to get some time to relax.

I envy you! I used to have these nights often! My daughter used to go to her dads every other weekend- he has now moved to Florida and we are in NY. Oh how I miss these "free to me" nights! I hope you enjoyed every minute of it!

This sounds delicious! I am so jealous. I'd love to have time alone at home to do whatever i wanted. It wouldn't matter how long that was, I don't think it would be long enough! I am in my 40s and have two little one's at home. They keep us hopping and we are getting older and older! My sister and I laugh because her last child is starting college this year and my first one is starting kindergarten! Funny how life happens.

We have things in common, trieschman. I'm forty-two with a four year old. My sisters have long since raised their families and we laugh at how life is playing itself out with us. I wouldn't have it any other way. There are absolutely reasons why I was meant to be an older mom. :)

Ohhhh...that sounds like an absolutely PERFECT evening! My husband is really good about giving me a break from the kids, but it just seems like when he is home and we can, the kids want me around too. We don't get enough "family" time all together. But I just love being home alone!

That is nice of your hubby. You will have to make it up to him when you are feeling better. Enjoy that bath.

Actually I did...there is this lady that is a very sweet gal. She has been blessed with one son who is now seperated from his wife....well she buys all this Estee Lauder makeup and recieves all these free things like wonderful bags etc. Today she brought in a big bag....a large red bag that will be a perfect carry on when I travel....and another smaller bag with an even smaller bag inside with a bunch of samples of makeup....she also had a basket in that was filled with different kinds of Russell Stover chocolates!!! She spoils me all the time....and I try to spoil her as much as possible!

YES!! yes!! yes!! yes!! lol Our a/c has been out for about 2 weeks now due to a lightening surge and we had to get a new one which has taken some time for hubby and a friend to install and it's all hooked up now and ready to go!! It's been soooo unbearably hot the past 2 weeks that I thought I'd go insane!! lol But we all managed to survive it without killing one another, thanks to having a pool to jump into when we needed a break from the sweltering humidity and heat. If we didn't have that I think we might have ended up in the morgue. lol Just kidding!!

Well, I just got an assignment from my office to stay in till 6.00 pm everyday for forever and get up on a serious backlog we're suffering from. That means a serious increase in my monthly stipend and its truly good at a time like this with prices and expenses running up the hill all around me. Yes, it might be work, but its a good surprise.

Ah I had time like this...On Sunday morning after staying with us for my cousin's 21st my mum and her partner took BOTH my kids for 2 nights! I have never been away from the youngest overnight before & was feeling a bit apprehensive. All went well, I had a long hot bath & relaxed a bit...bit I spent most of my time hating the silence & wanting my boys back, HAHA! But it will be happening every few months and it's great for me and hubby to have some US time!

Oh I'm jealous. I so want an evening to myself, soak in a hot tub and curl up to a good book. I was just telling my husband that I am never in my own house by myself. I work full time out of the house and my husband stays home with the kids so he gets a few hours by himself when the kids go to school but when I get home everyone is home. When my husband works on the weekends, the kids are home. I just miss having a quiet house and being able to do whatever you want without someone needing something. Maybe my husband will suprise me someday and take everyone away for a little bit so I can relax.

I can so relate to this. I love my home and need my time to just 'be' in it now and then... This sounds weird, but sometimes I actually really enjoy cleaning my home because it feels almost like massaging an old friend.

yes I did. hubby won employee draw and brought home 100 bucks which is good for grocery. also 3 out of 10 items I auctioned on Ebay are sold. I was hoping 2 more will sell, but I need to relist it and I am going to wait for the first 3 payments to come so that the listing fee will be covered. I have no idea they would be sold, since I have tried to sell them before with no luck and I had given up selling there for some time.

while my kids are older and at school all day i still love to have time to myself (i am an artist and i run a small business, so i am at home) but i dont have much time to relax. i like to do this at night if my kids and hubby arent home (a bubble bath sounds like a plan!)

Good for you!! I wish I had the time for a warm bubble bath. I am always running off to do something and I rarely have the time for myself. I am not complaining. I used to have all the time in the world and it's not a thrill at all. Cheers!!
