In all my years of baking, I have slaughtered 1 cake (hurried up and trashed it). Night before I was so tired and tried to bake a sweepotatoe pie. I created something only Frakenstien would eat.

I have gotten side tracked while cooking before and ruined things. I normally remember just in time, but every once in awhile something comes out really bad. Better luck next time.

LOL. Thank goodness it isn't something that happens frequently.

Don't feel bad. I was given a recipe for a crumb cake that I thought was the most delicious thing in the world. Well, I told my kids I was going to make it and that they would love it. Don't know what the heck I did wrong but it was a disaster. The crumb part sunk to the bottom of the batter part after I baked it. My daughter laughed me out of the kitchen. It wasen't supposed to do that. I never tried that cake again. It was a great tasty thing though when I sampled it at a party.

I've never cook one Sherlock. I would think I would have flipped that cake upside down after baking it and commenced to slicing. If it was edible they may have never known the difference.

LOL Oh dear thankfully I was not invited over for dinner. Were you absent minded. Or did you stay on my lot when cooking? I hope that next time you won't have any distractons while baking.

I know Snowy. I was just so surprised that I messed that one up, I don't use a recipe. I bake by taste. So confident I could cook it blind. I was cooking it for a neighbor who was kind enough to come down and change a flat tire for me,(hubby was at work). Well, he can't have those. Taste like taffy, and the texture too. LOL

LOL. Well Apple, I think rushing and fatigue plays a part in the kitchen nightmares.
