Have you been to the tropics?

I love the tropical regions of the world most of all. People that live in the Philippines are really lucky to be able to spend time on palm fringed beaches and have sunny weather for almost every day of the year. I love tropical islands that have gently waving palm trees. I am keen on snorkeling and like to see colorful coral and friendly fish. Have you been to the tropics? If so what did you like to see and do there? If not where in the tropics would you like to go to? Maybe you are lucky enough to live in a tropical location! 1991 St Lucia 1993 Hawaii,Fiji 1994 Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia 1997 Kenya 2000 Hong Kong and Singapore 2001 French Polynesia and the Cook Islands 2002 Samoa 2004 The Seychelles 2005 The Maldives 2006 Mexico, Belize and Guatemala

One of my friends used to work for a travel company and she got cheap trips every year. She has been to Japan, the Bahamas, Antigua and Mauritius. I hope that you get to visit many more places. x

I do get cheap trips but, even with heavily discounted trips I just cannot afford as many as I would like because of money issues at the moment - it takes me and my husband so long to save for one trip! I know things will be better in the next year or so though as our bills reduce so then we are going to make the most of having a bigger disposable income!! : )

Hi! I live in the Philippines! You're right when you said that we have sunny weather almost every day of the year. It's not always a good thing. You'll eventually get sick of the heat here. It's so hot, right after you take a cool shower and walk around, you're already sweating! If you're on vacation on a beach, it's definitely nice to see the palm trees and enjoy the heat of the sun while walking on the beach. But if you're living in the city and you have to get to work everyday by commuting or walking, the heat gets pretty annoying. But of course when I'm on the beach, I love the sun!

Thanks for giving a balanced view of what it is like to live rather than holiday in a tropical country. My country has four seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring. I much prefer two seasons: hot and dry and hot and wet. I found the climate in Darwin sticky and sweaty. I had a shower, dried myself, then got wet again with perspiration. Yes, when commuting the heat must get irritating I guess. You can go to a palm fringed beach and then have a wonderful time. If it ever gets really hot in my home country the beaches get crowded. I would love to visit the Philippines.

I used to live in the US when I was younger. I miss the snow! Hopefully you'll be able to come visit the Philippines. I suggest you come here in February because the beaches are not too crowded then. If you do visit, you should check out Boracay or Bohol. The beaches there are great!

I love them too and was lucky to actually live in tropical areas. I don't know anymore since I haven't been in a tropical place for quite some years, but I used to think that that was my favorite and the kind of place where I would like to live. Mind you tropical but by the ocean, not in the interior. SOmetimes me and hubby do talk about that. Maybe one day be able to live in one.

I have never went to a tropical region before. Have you ever went somewhere else before? Is the tropical region hot? I dont think i would want to go because of the mosquitos. I hate bugs who bite me. I just dont like to be near the snakes. I might go to tropical place later -rangerkoji-

yes, we filipinos are lucky to have a tropical country! Mabuhay! (long live!) I hope you will come to my country, hmm not this soon because we are experiencing some national security problems but I do hope someday you can visit my place. My country is beautiful and I am proud of that, you can go to the best beaches and enjoy. you can go to cebu, palawan, davao, camiguin where you can snorkel and scuba dive at very affordable prices, plus the filipinos are very hospitable you dont have to worry about anything because we, filipinos serve our guests the best as we can :)

Well, I myself on the belt of Tropic of Cancer. I haven't been to any of the islands but I have been to one of the most beautiful tropical beach of India - Thiruvananthpuram. Its wonderful. As you say, I am luckier than anyone that I am in this region of the world. Its very beautiful. I loved my trip to that region... I wish I will be able to visit the islands - especially the Maldives, have heard that its a very good place to enjoy!

I live here in the Philippines, But our country is more prone to low pressures that led to great numbers of storms, one that really hearts our people was the strongest storm ever hit Albay, a province here in the Philippines, it claims Thousands of lives and millions of Pesos of destructions and I'm one of the victims luckily I'm alive, the flood reaches up to 20 feet high and I almost drowned trying to save our thngs from getting wet, but its no use, Me and my family Sleep with soaking wet shirts for 2 days for we lost evrything including underwares, appliances, important papers and pets. But Your right living in the tropical country are far more great than in other non- tropical. I dont like to be hit by tornado, storms are just fine were getting used to it.
