Freeze out on Mozilla Fox Fire - anyone else?

I just discovered the wonders of Mozilla FoxFire browser. Multiple windows at once with a simple tab of designation. Been fine for awhile now, but as of hte last few days - I can only open one window at a time. If I opend another one, it will literally freeze up - both windows for quite a while. Plus, while those going on in MOzilla, I have IE open doing emails and such. No problems on Yahoo, but when the FF freezes, it freezes me in Yahoo too. After sitting for about 7 minutes (timed it) it will close 2 windows and let me go back to Yahoo, but what the heck is going on? Anyone have any suggestions to help me? Just my luck -I always get in on the tail end of a good thing... I heard of the upgrade to FF3, and heard all the problems so didn't upgrade, but now this - is it related in anyway to not upgrading or is there something else I haven't done right?

Could be a memory problem. When the computer I was using at our summer place burned out, I tried to run FireFox 3 on a really old backup computer and there it froze a lot. I had to uninstall it and go back to an earlier version. The way they do the tabs isawesome! Now everyone has them, but FireFox pretty much went there first.

Glad you could find a fix. Yeah, it drives me nuts to! Especially since I am so computer/internet illiterate about stuff like this! I didn't do anything yet it messes up on me! Guess I'll have to wait and see. Thanks for your bit of hope!

MIne is working fine. I had a bit of trouble when I upgraded but it took me longer to fix because I didn't have time to come here and fix it. But ever since I had it fixed I haven't had any problems any freezing, nothing. By the way did you do the windows update thingy? That seems to be one of the reasons for freezing and crashing, specially if we have Zone Alarm and forgot to do the update as well.

I did the windows update and it caused so many problems that Ijust did a restore and went back to the way it was. Do you have any specific updates to do that might help me?

I've been having problems with Firefox also. It's been running slower than previously and too frequently I get a message that it is unresponsive. I've been using it for about 2 years since a friend introduced me to it and have loved it...until recently. Not happy here. This could be due to problems with the newest version which I downloaded. I haven't been looking online to see if others more knowledgeable than I have posted about it in other places.

I forget which one I have, but i did do the upgrade to the next version and it was a nightmare so I went back to the one I had and itis fine now. Also why I don't upgrade IE to the next version - been there, done that! Won't do it again!

You may have to reinstall it. I know when I last reformatted my hard drive and installed Firefox it was not working right, causing mega problems but when I uninstalled and then redownloaded and reinstalled, it cleared up.

P.S. If that fails, you may have to reformat your hard drive. ;(
